I'm not sure how good broad severing is (if it disarms everyone within 20 feet), since two of your tactics should be kiss of doom and brute force. I will say that Swift Blades is awesome for fighting melee classes combined with the Riposte tactic. You should be able to win any 1v1 fight.

Alright. Magus is a whole other story I guess. Havok and Changing's final tactics are pretty huge. +15% Critical chance given to their respective trees spells, and the Rank 4s are fairly nice. Especially Changings.

I have found, to great annoyance, that Archmages can outheal my damage as a Sorceress and, to boot, can solo kill me while they do it. This has been true even for Archmages a few levels below me. Granted, I'm only level 9 but it's still rather irritating.

Good to know. Even given the annoyance, Sorceress is a load of fun. Though I die fairly frequently to backlash, it never ceases to amuse me and hasn't really been a hindrance thus far in scenarios.

If anything, it denies the other team points

Managing backlash gets to be second nature. Use your instant cast dots to build up soul juice, then use all your critty spells. If you're <90, let it bleed off to about 60 then use a surging pain to build it back up between fights. I usually Dhar Wind above 90 unless I'm above two thirds health or have a good chance to AOE.

I'd thought of the very thing actually. I typically blow Dhar Wind anywhere between 75 and 95 for safety's sake; that and it's like blowing a huge, red load all over the target's face.

Despite the fact that I think scenarios should take the back seat to the open RvR battlefields, I kinda wish they'd go ahead and allow cross-server scenarios. At least then, queues for games that aren't Tor Anroc would fill more often.

I'll second this whole-heartedly. Scenarios are a much more interesting way to level.

The problem is that Tor/Mourkain are enormously faster than the other 2 scenarios in their bracket. So not only does that mean you get an assload more exp and renown by playing them, thus attracting more people, but the queue also inherently moves faster.

Cross server scenarios may or may not be helpful, but they really need to do something to encourage people to shoot each other more on phoenix gate and stonetroll and get these scenarios moving faster.

Doomfist Crater matches usually don't last over 4 minutes(Three +25% Damage murder balls help.) That beats the hell out of the 7 minute average of Tor Anroc, but people rarely queue for it. The entire scenario is small. You can mount to the flag in about 10 seconds from either spawn, it's that tiny.

And as a bonus, the game doesn't cater to melee knockbacks.

This is probably why. Order would be retarded not to take advantage of their stupidly powerful knockbacks.

Been really loving the white Lion... got an epic chestpiece at lvl 5 by being afk in a public quest and BS rolling a 980 against everyone else being under 100 and getting a yellow, massive, loot bag. Rofl. Ended up salvaging it into a +12 wounds permanent talisman a little while later though, heh.

Been violating the T1 scenarios at any rate, but double dinged to r12/r11 last night so back to the bottom of the pile for the T2 ones

Was really enjoying topping the damage, killshot and solo kills meter too dammit <_<

One of my favorite tricks is to run into a crowd and use the AOE cage. It absolutely pisses everyone off and I'm usually immediately focus-fired to death.

That said, sorcerer cage breaks really, really easily, and the cooldown is a lot longer than it's duration. I've never been able to cage someone even though one tick of a DOT.

DoTs have no effect on roots if they're applied before hand. It's casting them while the root is on that has a chance to break.

What is good in Sorceress specs? I was at the masteries thinking I'd like to go primarily Agony with a bit of Destruction to fill out my AoE. Bit lost on what to do with it as a couple of the tactics I'd planned on using appear to be either bugged or stealth nerfed; specifically, Umbral Fury doesn't appear to be properly increasing proc rates and tapping the dark appears to only be shielding the Sorceress rather than the party members.

Maybe if someone has another person doing it with them. All roots are 10 second duration with a 20 second cooldown. Plus, they're disruptable, and probably blockable with a shield too. Let's not forget career and morale abilities that break and ignore roots.

50% break rates are pretty bad though, when you have trigger happy morons in your realm.

QQ more. It's all random chance. I've had Tzeentch's grasp last the full 10 seconds on guys getting absolutely hammered by Marauders, other times, a single auto attack breaks it immediately.

Either way, the point of roots isn't to make a stationary target, it's to get grandmas off your ass while you're getting away from them.
