Renown gear is crappy for anything outside of RvR. Magus Renown gear is full of Strength and Willpower to reduce block rates against your spells and increase defense against enemy spells. Because I did all of the above, and set that one to 16xQ, and my video actually got worse.
There's a distinct possibility that you are not suffering from the bug for which this remedy is intended, then.
It seems when I go to the City, it's basically a slideshow. I don't really understand why. I get the problem nowhere else in the game, even in heavy RvR.

Ech. Healer survivability dropped pretty quickly, seems like DPS classes, particularly melee classes, are actually something to fear now. It's really rough Order side due to the lack of tanks, especially in keep assaults. Even then, the only tanks you seem to run into are Ironbreakers.
Kind of odd really, because the class variance in dps classes (which make up the majority of Order characters it seems) is pretty large. Generally you don't fill up a scenario or raid with only one class. You get lots of different dps classes, and healers that want to DPS and tanks that want to DPS.
Which means there's very little healing or tanking going on, and hell of a lot of dying.
Marauder is also best.

So, I was playing my Order WP on Red Eye Mountain earlier, and I run a couple of the T1 instances a few times. Each time, there's -maybe- one tank and a couple WH's. I had one run of Khaine's where literally half the team was Archmages, and we got slaughtered.
So, fuck it, I switch over to my IB.
First two scenarios I play? Not a single fucking healer. All tanks, engineers (Do these guys actually every kill anyone? I can't tell), and other assorted DPS.
I logged off in disgust. Just bad luck, I know, but goddamn...
Generally, provided you aren't a tank yourself, you want to avoid Khaine's like the plague. Even with queue-from-any-zone going on every Khaine's I join is still somehow all Elves/Dark Elves.
As Order I guess you want to take all the Ekrund pops you can get, idk, fucking Ironbreakers and Rune Priests in T1 are ridiculous, so as Destruction I dodge that thing every time it pops.
That being said, it's the easiest scenario to completely dominate if you bring in some Ironbreakers and DPS classes from other scenarios (if you have some healers that know how to heal anyway, stupid chicken shit arch mages that run if you start to hit them).
