I'm in that very starting goblin/rat cave where you start the game before you pick anything. The controls seemed cumbersone and I got bored, saved and quit. I'll give it another shot later.

Don't be mad.

I find it rather pointless to try and use power attacks. Just duck and weave/block enemies and rush in for a quick stab.

A Kansas City Shuffle is when everybody looks right, you go left.

It's not something people hear about.

Stuff scaling to your level is indeed my biggest peve with this game. I'm the Grand Champion of the Arena and zombies still take freaking forever to kill. Seriously, I'm supposed to be 'the greatest hero of Cyrodiil' yet a stupid putz zombie is able to soak hits like nothing they are nothing? Give me a break.

Zombies don't scale.

All zombies in the game are level 2, have 80 health, and 165 fatigue, and are weak to fire magic.

Headless Zombies, however, you start running into at level 10, are level 8, have 175 health, 165 fatigue, and are also weak to fire magic.

Finally, you start running into Dread Zombies at level 16. They have 340 health, 200 fatigue, and the same weakness to fire that the other zombies have.

Also, easiest way to kill a zombie is with fire magic (duh), bow and arrow, or with a two handed weapon, like a Claymore. You can stay right out of their reach and slice at them with the sword.

Personally, I like zombies being tough to kill. More weapon skill ups.

At level 11, I'm not having any significant problems killing stuff, but it's WAY too hard to keep your equipment upgraded in this game, from what I can tell. At 11 I'm still running around with mostly Steel armor on. (Though a really nice chest piece that gives me +15 health.) The only piece of armor I have that ain't steel is my pants, which are Dwarven. (Also using a Dwarven Claymore.) Also don't like the fact that as you cast more powerful magic (even if it requires higher skill), you have to pay way more Magicka compared to a weaker spell. It becomes a choice of casting effective magic or magic with better sustainability. Hopefully when I can make my own magic (haven't done much quest wise, though got to Champion in the Arena today), it'll be a bit more cost effective than what trainers teach.

Finally, power attacks CAN be useful. Power attacks make good counters to when your opponent just tried to power attack you, but was out of range. You can do a forward power attack and land a powerful counter attack. I don't like the Left/Right Power Attack I recieved at 50 Blade skill though. Doesn't seem like it works often enough to be worthwhile. Though, admittedly, I managed to disarm an archer's bow in the Arena, and it was funny because that was the only weapon the npc had. That's the only time that power attack has worked so far though.

I just quit after hitting a Dread Zombie 100 times and not making a noticeable difference in his health.

I'm going to reroll and exchange Heavy Armor and Blunt with Light Armor and Blade since at level 18 I'm running around with a dwarven mace and a suit of steel while i've gotten 2 full suits of Elven Armor and a ton of glass and elven blades. It's getting just stupid.

Edit: At this point I'm still only able to buy Dwarven armor and weapons from merchants with the occasional piece of Orcish for sale. It's ironic since the hunter in the first Anvil Fighter's Guild quest broke out a full suit of Ebony Plate and a Glass claymore as soon as i talked to him. I almost killed him just for that. The murder in exchange for the armor would have been worth it.

Thieves guild will find you. For instance, after I got out of jail they approached me. But I was locked up for theft. As far as I can tell, unless you grab lockpicks from a dungeon, the only place to grab them is the thieves guild fences.

Anyone know how many ranks there are in thieves guild? Been doing things for them exclusively so far, made it up to Cat Burgaler..

So I get to the "final" fight of the Imperial Arena quest line. Announcer does his thing, gates open and my opponent doesn't move.

I shot an arrow at him and he just sat there staring at me, I killed him and he never did a thing to me other then taunt me every few seconds.

Stupid bugs.

It's not a bug. Did you try talking to him? Did you do his quest? I also got a "murder" tally and the dark brotherhood contacted me after the final arena match. >

If you own the house, yes. If you're renting it*, they will eventually dissapear even if the house is locked.

Oh, I forgot. Apparently, stuff doesn't seem to dissapear in chests too, or at least it takes longer. It will dissapear from crates, desks, barrels, etc. though. Safest to store it in a house though.

I think my favorite thing that has happened to me thus far in the game is when I walked into a Chapel, Caldwell Chapel I believe and I see these two men with their backs turned to me and I look at them and start to go up to them to talk, they turned around and looked kinda surprised, I thought why are they attacking me they are just people in a chapel then I see what they were looking at a corpse strung up and other body parts all around. They were necromancers! I quickly slew them, later I went down by the small dock that was nearby and saw a bunch of open caskets and parts laying around.

Also found a vendor named Shady Adam hanging around the outside of the Capital near the Talos Plaza gate, he had about 30 lockpicks on him.

I'm greatly enjoying abusing the traps I come across in the caves and dungeons. I was having some trouble killing ogres (those fuckers hit hard), so as I was executing a tactical evactuation, I ran past a trap I had sprung earlier, a spiky ball on a chain. On a whim, I drug it with me and released it when the ogre came around the corner behind me. Smacked him in the face with it, and when I noticed how well it worked, repeated the process several times. Fun way to kill something (or in my case five somethings) that's nine levels over your head.

I oppened it up and was A, very happy to find that its the EXACT same construction set as morrowind, so I know how to use it. And B, They seem to have left the E3 and test video worlds in, so you can go there and say hi to the lady that lights her dog on fire. if you create a portal to there, but thats like work.

So, anyone see any cool mods yet?

I hear rumors of people trying to get siege weapontry working with the havok engine ^o^.
