I figure that one day a game will be released that doesn't need to be patched out of the box and the world is going to end in a flash of hellfire.
In case anyone is interested:
AMD 2800 XP
ATI 9600XT with Catalyst 4.7
1024mb 3200 RAM

What I just learned is that you can't try to duck behind a box to dodge an Imp's fireball. Your head is placed at fireball level and the Imp gets a nice headshot on you.-Tok
You can side step'em real easy.

Yes. Those imps are lookin' mighty spicy as well.
How far along are you?
When i went to install the 4.7 drivers i first uninstalled the old ones as per good practice. Well, when i restarted driverless and installed the new 4.7 drivers, Windows made the stunningly brilliant decision to auto-install a set of drivers more than two years old that overwrote the drivers I was manually slapping on! I've got the problem fixed now, so i'm hoping Doom 3 will work.

About half way through Alpha Lab Sector 1.
Past the half eaten dude that's chained to the ceiling where you run into the first maggots. I found the scientist and then got squished by a door, so I decided to call it a night.

So you get turned on by having your head forcefully seperated from your body? Alaan fucked around with this message on 08-04-2004 at 11:27 PM.

Why'd you edit your post? The first version was much funnier.

Exactly. But it wasn't meant to be. Alaan fucked around with this message on 08-04-2004 at 11:30 PM.

Is it worth $55?
It won't let me change my video settings, ever. I change them in the menu, hit Apply Changes and get the "these changes will take effect the next time you run Doom 3" message, but regardless of what I do, the changes don't take effect in-game, and appear the same in the menu. The game looks damned good enough that I couldn't tell at first, but I pasted a screenshot and it was in 640x480.
So, I throw myself at your mercy. Given that I have been avoiding Doom 3 posts until I could get the game, I am woefully uninformed as to tech fixes. GUIDE ME, HOLY ONES

Try changing them, then rebooting before running the game.

No dice.

ArchAngel had this to say about Cuba:
So... what're the minimum (and recommended) specs for this marvel of modern gaming?
Hard OCP was saying something like a 1.5 GHZ or AMD equivalent processor and a decent 64 meg card to run it on the low settings which are still pretty nice.

I have the same card and it runs fine on high quality / 800x600.

Then you'll be one of the fat zombies, and I can outrun ya
And then I got to the Delta Labs. How wrong I was.
It's not something people hear about.
quote:I'd just like to point out how easy it would be for Mortious to pervert that.
But Katrinity doesn't really care for music, do you?
It was pretty freaky when the first 'Pink Demon' showed up...

Pinkies are way too badass now, I have troubles mentally referring to them as pinkies anymore
Try this.
Tack on +set r_mode 4 to the end of your Doom 3 shortcut.

4 = 1024x768 (I think this is a mistake, and is actually 800x600)
5 = 1024x768
6 = 1152x864
7 = 1280x1024
8 = 1600x1200

Naota Nandaba had this to say about John Romero:
Which are pinky demons?
They were the big pink ones with bull horns that would charge you in the original game. This time they are the bull-sized 'bulldog' looking creatures with robotic back-halves.

Half-cybernetic dog demon thing.
