Arriving at another dock, Fantasha then walks off the boat onto the dock. Stopping to hail and talk with a few gnomes, she then bows and starts heading off into the snow. Stopping at one of the clifs that head down to some ice patches that go across the water to another island, Fantasha opens her bag and pulls out her Mammoth cloak wrapping it around her shoulders to block out some of the cold wind. She also pulls out a potion from her bag and takes a sip and begins to levitate. Then she uses her effect on her boots feeling herself quicken she takes off running quicker then before into the air. Passing a dark tower off to her right on the next island she comes to another bridge across water that is patches of ice ... not stopping she continues across sorta flying through the air. After a tad bit of wading through some snow on the next island she comes to a bridge guarded by two Giants. Passing by them both she crosses a dragons skelton that is used as the bridge. At the other side of the bridge she enters East Wastes.

Kedarien hauls the General's brother into one of the cells, far from the guards, and checks to make sure the General has gone. Muttering to himself he ties the assassin properly to the bars of the cell, securing his hands with a set of metal binders.
"Oookay, now for potion number two..." Kedarien pulls a small vial from his hip pouch, takes off the lid and puts the open end of the vial underneath the assassin's nose. The fumes, part of a powerful stimulant designed to wake a person from a deep state of unconciousness (hint hint), travel out of the vial and into the assassin's nose.

The figure stops, still out of sight but near Fantasha on the cliff. It stops for a few seconds, seeming to take in the view. Then the wind picks up, and the hazy image that is visible of the figure, is torn apart. Wisps of the image fly off into the sky and the figure vanishes.

A bit later, at one end of a dragon skeleton that also is bridge, the wind picks up again. Strands of wispy material come from the air, forming together and bringing the ghost-shape of a person into view again. The hazy form fades even more, until it's grey color matches the surrounding white snow, and the figure is almost impossible to see. The figure moves forward, following Fantasha from the ground.

Fantasha stands before a castle that looks to be half barried in the snow. A path dug down into the snow leads to the Castle entrance known as Kael. As Fantasha heads down the path her levitate and her invisibility seem to fade making her visible. As she enters Kael one of the Giants attack her and start hitting her pretty hard. She fumbles with her spell but manages to continue with her concentration and roots and limbs of trees come through the ice tieing around the Giants feet. Fantasha backs up and begins to heal herself, and then begins to pull out her Water Sprinkler Staff when the Giant breaks through the roots...

Fantasha's new shadow had momentarily gotten lost. It had been following Fantasha from a far distance to make sure it wasn't spotted, but then it had lost her as she moved deeper into the castle. The figure had just found her again when the giant attacked. Picking up speed, the ghost-like figure's color returned to it's previous grey as it ran towards the Fantasha giant.

There was a short quick noise that sounded a lot like someone shrieking. The ghost-image of a human appeared between Fantasha and the giants, a deep grey tone tone to the wisps of ethereal material (woohoo I got to use the phrase!!) as the figure completely coalesced. However, it finished forming not as a complete human, but rather a full ghost of a human. The ghost floated a few inches from the ground, and was wearing armor that suggested either a warrior of some kind. A glowing blue, semi-transparent sword was secured at each hip, but the ghost left the weapons alone as its hands reached into the sky. The ghost yelled, and was suddenly enlarged to the same size as the giant. With the two swords, now impressively large, the ghost swept it's arms up, and then slashed both swords across the giant's hammer. The weapon broke in half, both pieces flying to the ground. A quick spin followed by a similar slashing move and the swords swung through the giant's chest, sending the opponent staggering back as it clutched it's heavily bleeding torso.

The ghost muttered a few arcane words, and it returned to normal size. The swords returned to their places and the ghost turned around to face Fantasha, seemingly not fussed by the angry-but-dieing giant that was nearby. When the ghost spoke, its words were very smooth, a little quieter then average conversation level, and also completely calm.
"Are you all right?" The ghost asked, moving forward but still staying out of weapons range, "did he hurt you badly?"

- - - - -
Meanwhile, back in the prison...
- - - - -

Kedarien smirked, watching the assassin squirm. He pulled the vial away and backed up to the other side of the cell.
"Don't bother, I don't care how good you are at killing people, you're still under the effects of the gas so your lock-picking skills wont do you any good." Kedarien kept a plain expression on his face as he closed and returned the vial to his hip pouch.
"There are no guards nearby to listen in, it's just one rogue to another." He kept his voice as even as possible, showing no emotion.
"Feel free to speak in any language you want." For the last statement he spoke in Dark Elvish, as a test of the assassin's knowledge.

--------------------------------------------

Mean while the general slips from the prison and starts to take a walk out side but its more of a fast paced walk than a casual walk. He enters his house bolts the door and tosses a bag over his shoulder and then leaves his house. Walking at an even faster pace to the gate that leads to the hills.

Fantasha stands in one place shocked watching the Ghost figure basically slaughter this one Giant. Her jaw all hanging down when the ghost turns towards her and asked her if she was hurt that bad. After a few minutes she shakes her head and reply's, "ummm...no...I'm fine just a few cuts but nothing I can't manage to heal. Who are you and why did you help me? What are you wanting in return?"

Pleased with the results of his little test, Kedarien decided to keep speaking in Dark Elvish. It was a precaution he often used, just in case there was a guard that was nearby that Kedarien could not detect with his sharp sense of hearing.
"I got most of your background from your brother, the General. There are a few things I want answers for, before I decide where you'll end up in all this. I'm sure you can imagine that the Qeynos Guard, and most of the citizens here will want you dead when the full story gets out." Kedarien straightened his stance, and let his hands slip behind his back.
"First, I'd like to know who trained you. There are only a few people that exist that could have brought you to such a high level in skill, I want to know who it was." His tone became a little darker, and his piercing glare a little stronger...

The ghost at first seemed to take on a look of relief that Fantasha was all right, but then its facial expression and body language turned to one of confusion.
"I...want nothing from you." The ghost said, the confusion was evident in its voice, but this new tone and stance reverted to its former self as the ghost spoke up again.
"My name is Sianj Desertwind, I have been watching over you for a long time. It is my duty to protect you." He lowered his head a little and stared at the ground, a look of deep thought on his face.

The dark assasin relizing he is dealing with more than a mere rogue grins and speaks back in dark elven, relizing what his captor is using the alternate language for, "Yes, I know the people will try but I swear it wasn't me I went to speak with the monk, I swear upon my life, as for this general you speak of I have no clue what the hell your talking about. To answere your other question I was trained by the dark elven of old. To answere your next question that you'll ask me yes i am an assasin and I did kill 1 guild leader and that gnome but I have my reasons. For one the gnome was really an assasin seaking out the tomes I have studied from to use them against his own order. Next the guild leader was corrupted, that alone is self explanitory."

A look of curiosity spreads across her face. "Protect me? Why do you need to protect me? Who made that your duty? How long have you been doing so? Wait! Before you answer those questions I think it wise that we should move to a safer place to talk. Shall we go ahead and get to the Plains of Growth and then sit down and have a talk? I have a potion that allows you to see invisible that way it is easier for you to follow if you need it?" Fantasha then pulls out the potion and holds it out to Sianj.

~He's lying.~ The simple thought entered Kedarien's mind as he listened to the assassin talk.
"So, okay, I'll get to the guild leaders and your training in a moment...but are you saying that you are not the brother of General Knightbane?"

Sianj opened his mouth to answer a few times when Fantasha was speaking, but he held back, and let her finish. He lifted a hand, palm facing her.
"I thank you, but I have no need for the potion. You are correct in saying it is dangerous here, and I will follow you. I shall have to remain partially hidden, and...may I suggest that you also become invisible again?"

Fantasha smiles putting the see invis potion away and pulls out a different potion bottle...taking a sip she disappears then slips the rest of the potion back in her back pack and begins weaving through Kael til she comes upon the entrance into Wakening Lands. Pausing for a moment in case the ghost needs to catch up. After a good enough wait she weaves through Wakening Lands coming upon a lake with a small tower in the center of it. Crossing the bridge and climbing the tower there is only a small twig/nut tree that sits on to the tower. Fantasha appears and waits for the Sianj to do so also. When she finally sees him do so she touches part of the trunk of the tree and disappears into the Plain of Growth.

Sianj stayed close to Fantasha now...after a long time staying hidden from her sight, there was now no longer a need to keep distance from her. As soon as Fantasha became invisible, he slipped back into his own invisible form. As they traveled he kept up with Fantasha, but occasionally slipped away from her and ran in a semi-circle about a couple-hundred yards in front of her to make sure the path ahead was clear.

When the two reached the tower, Sianj carefully slipped back into his visible form, keeping a wary eye on the other people who were nearby. His hand touched the tree a half-second after Fantasha's, and then he was also transported to the Plain of Growth.

Upon arrival in the Plain of Growth, Sianj's ghost-form seemed to glow a little brighter, and his features became sharper. After following Fantasha to the lake, he notices that she has not taken a seat, so Sianj instead leans against a tree.
"The story I am about to tell is quite old, so the details are slowly fading." The ghost closed his eyes and lowered his head slightly.
"Many years ago, long before you entered this world, I was a warrior. I commanded a small unit of other human warriors, paladins and rangers, under the direct control of the Qeynos Generals. We were directed to spend several months scouting the far southern region of Antonica, our mission was to find a new area to settle in case Qeynos was overrun. After our first expedition was completed, we returned to Qeynos with very little to say...south of the Feerrott is a very desolate place." Sianj paused, his face alert and his eyes open for a moment as he scanned the area around them.
"This news did not go down well, and we were ordered on a second expedition, and told to search further east. The expeditionary force was cut in half, a form of punishment I guess, not that it would have mattered." At this point, his voice took on a haunted tone.
"We swept down to the far southern coast again, and when we found that it was still dead, we followed the shoreline heading east. The twelve of us made it to the point where the great river meets the ocean, and this territory was fertile but a far distance from Qeynos. Not wanting to fail again, I decided that instead of following our route backwards to get home, we'd go north, up the river and finally to the Plains of Karana. The team agreed that this was the best idea, so we started the journey north. It has been a long time, so I could no longer point out to you on a map where we traveled to, but after a small amount of days moving up the banks of the river we encountered a small city of ruins. It was our biggest success, not only was the soil good for farming, but there were ruins for the city to start rebuilding on! The entire team was overjoyed, we finally had found good news to bring home." Sianj looked away for a moment, and then returned to the story.
"I decided it was best that we explore the ruins, to map them before the end leg of our journey. The ruins aren't very large, so we stayed in one large group, the four rangers in the team spread out a little, documenting what little wildlife inhabited the ruins. We were about halfway through the ruins when it happened. In a split second we went from quietly drawing out the streets on the large canvas we had packed, from being in the most fierce battle of our lives. From out of no where, large four-legged creatures that I cannot begin to describe came out of the ground. Literally springing from the very dirt we were walking on. They were armed with clubs, spears and nets...and stood easily twice out height, and that's just on all fours!" Sianj let that sink in for a few seconds before continuing.
"Despite being outnumbered more then three to one, we regrouped and began a retreat to the river. My second-in-command went down first, caught in one of the nets and then clubbed to death by one of the beasts. We lost two of the paladins and one of the rangers as well, but we did make it to the river. The beasts stopped attacking when we got to the river, and as they stood back at the edge of the ruins we were at first puzzled by their halt." Sianj stared off into the lake, the haunted look still in his eyes.
"We all died. From the river...we were trapped...it all happened so quickly...something emerged from the water...a being of enormous strength and magic..." His voice trailed off, and he ran a hand through his hair.
"In a final desperate move, when our strongest paladin and myself were the only two alive, the paladin sacrificed himself and his remaining magic to cast a spell that kept my spirit alive when my body was destroyed. I guess he figured that someone had to remain alive...in some form. The one problem, was that despite being alive in spirit, I was also trapped on a seperate plane of existence. There's not much to say about my time while I was trapped, so many years passed by while I searched my dark, silent cell for an escape. Then, one day, a little under four years ago, you cast a resurrection spell. I have no explanation for what happened, but somehow the spell not only touched the person you were bringing back to life, but also the walls of my cage." Sianj's voice was now strong again, a tinge of happiness to his words.
"Something in your spell brought me back to this world...and here I am. Pretty much as soon as I had returned I was able to locate you, and so ever since then I've been staying in the shadows, remaining out of sight, clearing the path for you were I saw a danger that was too strong for you to overcome. I have to protect you...simply because I owe you more then I can ever repay, you brought me out of a place with no sound, no sight, no feeling...no exit. It is my duty, mainly because of the same reason, also because of a promise I made to the paladin that let me live. And as I said, I've been watching over you for a little under four years." He raised his head and eyes to finally look at Fantasha.

Kedarien smiled, not bothering to hide his emotions now.
"You should know better then that. You know full well what the potion is. Anyway, as far as I can tell, either you or the general is lying to me. He's still in the city so I'll find out what the deal is on his end." He moved forward, a calm expression on his face. When he was standing next to the assassin, he kneeled down as if to release the binders. Then, in a sudden and powerful move, a small, steel bar was in his head, swinging up with enough strength to knock the assassin unconcious...if the blow connected with the back of the assassin's head...

Sianj also looked away, a stern look on his face.
"I didn't know how to approach you. You'd be amazed at how people treat me...back when I still made contact with other true-planars like yourself." His tone was now tinged with frustration.
"After I was released, now remember this was many, many years after the expedition, I tried to see if anyone who might remember the mission was still alive. The people I approached in Qeynos tried to kill me, thinking I was some abomination, an undead evil. I tried to explain that I wasn't dead, but they wouldn't listen...all except one. A wizard from the guild in Qeynos, he listened. For a time I thought he understood me, then he betrayed where I was hiding to the Karana paladins...a dozen clerics and paladins came storming into my cave...not that they could do much, I just vanished under their noses." He took a breath, and then he looked like he had just remembered some long forgotten fact.
"Anyway, that's not all that important. I carefully entered the city archives one night, looking for any trace of the two expeditions, or to find out if anyone who might have known about them was still alive. Oddly enough I found no records...none at all, even in the General's files from the year of the expiditions. So what could I do? I had no one to go to, no one who'd listen, no one alive that would remember me. I couldn't just do nothing!" He sighed, staring off into the lake again.
"So I tracked you down, it didn't take long. I decided to remain hidden, out of fear as to what you might do, how you might react. I figured you wouldn't know about me, that you wouldn't know you had released me. So I also figured it was safe to continue operating in the shadows...but then I had no choice back there with the giant. I knew it would happen sooner or later, and to my great happiness you weren't in the least bit frightened by my appearence." He looked back at her, gazing at her face.
"Thank you."

Kedarien doesn't know that

"Some rogue you are, no assassinations are for a good cause. We'll just have to wait and see what the General now has to say." Kedarien stood up after double checking the strength of the binders. Taking one last look around, he exited the cell and walked down the long hallway to the guard post. Just before he started speaking he quickly reminded himself to switch back to Common.
"The prisoner didn't know anything, but he's locked up in his cell for further questioning upon my return. Don't let anyone else talk to him." The guard nodded, not too happy about having to listen to a rogue but they had seen him with the general earlier on. Kedarien then inquired about where the General was, and after following the directions of a few other guards, he arrived at the gates. The guards at the gate weren't quite sure which direction the General had gone, but their closest guess was towards either the caves of Blackburrow or the Qeynos Hills Guard post. Kedarien thanked them and headed for the guard tower...

Sianj took a step forward and nodded, as if the question didn't even need to be asked.

Fantasha starts weaving through the tree's, shrubs and over flowing rivers. Then in a little clearing she comes upon a huge tree. One of the biggest she has ever encountered in her life. Part of the bark of the tree has made a ramp that circles around the trunk up the tree quiet a ways. Fantasha then starts climbing it. Halfway up she comes upon a couple panthers, petting them she walks into a room that has been carved out. Seeing Mother Tunare she walks up and kneels before her kissing the ground at her feet. "Praise Mother Tunare and all she lives for", after she says that she then stands before Mother Tunare. "I am at your service as always Mother Tunare...What is it that you wish of me?"

~~~~~~~~~~
Mother Tunare looks upon Fantasha for a few and then upon the Ghost at her side wondering if Fantasha has knowledge yet of it. Shaking her head clear of the thoughts, she begins to speak her voice coming out like a strong whisper. "You have yet to complete the quest that I have sent you on my child. You have helped in catching an assasin but is all as it seems? I have sent for you not to re-assign you but to re-direct you my child." Touching Fantasha's shoulder for her to stand, she then cups Fantasha's chin. "As I have taught you follow your heart and your instincts. Listen to the voice of the earth and the whispers of the tree's. Last I have heard through the breeze in the air is that the General has left Qeynos. Find him my child, and take him back to the city. Release the Guild Leaders and Call for the council of Qeynos and let them deal with the Assasin that is caught and the General. Atm half of the 4 council members have gone to Freeport. I have already sent a messenger to tell them that they are needed back in Qeynos. Do you follow so far my child?", Mother Tunare then releases her chin.
~~~~~~~~~~
Fantasha stands when she feels Mother Tunare's hand on her shoulder. As she stands she looks into her eyes and lightly shivers when Mother Tunare cups her chin. Getting lost in Mother Tunare's eyes all she can seem to focus on is her words. When her chin is then released Fantasha blinks her eyes and nods that she understands. She begins to turn to leave but then turns back to Mother Tunare with one last piece of buisness. "Is there anyway to bring Sianj back to human form?"

~~~~~~~~~~
Mother Tunare stares straight ahead and off into the distance as if remembering something long ago. "I am sorry but I was there shortly after he died. He was beyond means of resurection. I was suprised the day that you came for your next quest to see his ghost by your side. How you managed to bring him back this far is beyond me. If anyone can manage to bring him further into life it is your duty to figure that out. Now other important matters are at hand my child be gone." Mother Tunare then turns her back to Fantasha and looks out a small window that has been carved out in her room as if totally dismissing Fantasha.
(ooc) sorry for the long post lol
The general reaches the camp of bandits and starts to speak in the language of the thievs, "It is done I have shifted the blame and killed our last threats. Now tell me where I can find that necromancer."
One of the theives laughs and points out north and then speaks, "He left this morning for Neriak."
The general at this walks up stairs changfes into his assasin gear and then walks out the door saying over his should, "If an assasin comes looking for me... kill him."
The bandits all nod their heads and then continued with their lives within that farm.
The gerneral now walked with all haste towards the Commonds. He snicked and mumbles, "now wont that necromancer be surprised when he finds out that I am 3 weeks ahead of scedual.. and that the gnolls are ready to begin the attack... good thing this necro is bringing an army of undead and Dark elves... not to mention a few ogres and trolls... and then me sitting Master Assasin..."
"Yep, I'd say he was Karana-bound all righty." Kedarien had to put in a special effort to keep his face from slipping into a glare as he listened to one of the two guards.
"Was he alone?" He asked the guard who thought about that for a moment and then turned around to look at the other guard.
"D'you see anyone else?" The first guard asked.
"Was'lone." Came the reply.
"Oh...well the General was alone."
Kedarien thanked the two guards then quickly made his escape and headed off towards the Karana's.
A short time later he neared the edge of the bandit camp. He'd never actually talked with this group before, but hey...one rogue to another and all that. Kedarien loosened the short sword at his hip, he suspected the General had something to do with these people which meant they would not appreciate Kedarien's presense in their camp.
~Time to go beat up some bandits.~ A hand on the hilt of his sword, Kedarien began making his way down to the camp.
Sianj kept silent, out of respect for Tunare. He listened to what Mother Tunare was saying as his eyes swept around the nearby area; spotting escape routes, ambush points, good places to mount a defense. This was normal for Sianj, he found it was a good way to pass the time for it kept his mind occupied while he listened and remained silent. When Tunare finished, Fantasha asked a question that caught Sianj's attention. It was touching, but he already knew the answer, in fact he also knew what Tunare hadn't said, what she couldn't say. The abrupt dismissal from Tunare was a little strange, but Sianj figured that she wanted to get Fantasha moving as soon as possible. He took a step forward so that he was standing next to Fantasha, and waited for her to move.
Fantasha turns away knowing that the first place where most of the crap gets plotted. Heading back out and down the huge tree Fantasha heads towards the lake. When approaching the lake a druid sits waiting. Fantasha clasps arms with the druid and they hug for a split second then the druid asks where she was needed to be off to...Fantasha reply's "Northern Karana" With in a few seconds streams of color gather around Fantasha, the druid and Sianj...
Sianj hastily slipped out of form and into a "clear" color as to avoid being seen by the druid. It might have seemed an easy enough thing to do, but this form took more effort. Being completely invisible was harder then simply matching color to the surrounding area. He patiently waited while the druid cast the teleportation spell...
The bandits just went about their business even though a few had this "funny" feeling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The general reaching the Northern Part of the Karana's stops at these wizard spires and quickly tries to look as generalish as possible before approching the bridge guards.

the guard shouts to him, "Halt, who are you and why you here this late?"

The general replys "It is I General Knightbane. I am in my scout armor as I have been tracking a necromancer."

"Ah, well may we be of any assistance?"

"Yes, there should be a rogue that is following me... make sure he doesn't leave this bridge alive. He, has commited many crimes and is seeking to kill me."

"Will do sir."

"Well I must be off."

At this the general contimued on."

---------------------------------------------

The assasin awoke muttering some curses, "Damn that rogue, knocking people out; someone might get hurt one day."

Fantasha and the druid pops into Northern Karana at some ruins that have druids surrounding it along with some treants. Fantasha quickly clasps arms with the druid and kisses him on the cheek mumbling a hurried goodbye. Starting to run across the Karana's Fantasha finally comes upon a Bandit Camp. Being here several times before she slows her pace to a walk and casually begins walking up to the camp.

The small amount of evidence at the camp was rather inconclusive, with the exception of a muttered sentance that Kedarien overheard while he walked through the camp. The bandits did not acknowledge his presense, they continued their work without even a passing glance at Kedarien. A little frustrated, but happy to be leaving, Kedarien headed off in the direction indicated by the overheard conversation.
~So, continuing eastward are you General?~ Kedarien thought as he got back on the trail to Northern Karana...

Sianj stayed close to Fantasha, keeping an eye out for the various creatures that roamed the plains. He slipped away from her side for a few minutes, staying within visual range but placing himself between Fantasha and a distant Hill Giant. A short while later the Giant moved away, and Sianj returned to running with Fantasha. It seemed odd that she was headed to a bandit camp, but he remained silent and put a little extra effort into his invisibility. If any bandits became hostile to her, they would not be alive for much longer after their first hostile action.

The general arriving at a small pass looks through and whispers something in gnoll. At that moment about 5-10 gnolls gather around the general and escort him through this small pass, which leads to a dark evil forest.

/ooc sorry I forgot what the place is called .

Arriving at this dark pass the gnolls break off and go to guarding the pass so that their leader will have tome to get through the forest without followers.

The general walking into the forest gets a cold chill that runs down his spine. He says oneowrd to himself, "Death."

Continuing on walking along the path. Luckily the sun had just rose and the undead had gone to rest for the day.

After Fantasha has talked with the bandits and got all the information she could about the where abouts of the General. Fantasha heads back to the druid ring. Again a druid awaits here. Brilliant colors stream from the druids hand and then darkness for a second and then we appear at the druid ring in West Commonlands. Fantasha clasps arms with the druid and thanks him for his time. She then turns and heads towards Northern Freeport for a nights sleep and to see if she can catch the eldars before they leave for qeynos...

Isn't it handy to be able to walk across half a continent over the space of 12 hours?

Kedarien finally came to rest in Rivervale. He had done a little contract work with the Thief's guild, so he cashed in on a couple of favors and the guild offered him a room for the night. The General was now becoming very confusing, Kedarien had expected an end point in the trip before they would reach the continental divide. Instead, the General was headed for Freeport, and possibly North or South of there. Faydwer did not seem a likely destination, but Kedarien started thinking up contingency plans to get word to the Soldier's of Tunare. It would help to have some backup, especially if Kedarien's suspicions about the General were true...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The trip back to the Druid ring was thankfully quiet again. Even the lions stayed away for a change, so there wasn't much to do. He picked up the faintest of trails along the way, someone very good at hiding their tracks...which didn't tell Sianj a lot. He decided to file away the little discovery for a later time, if it was needed. People traveled across the plains regularly, it might have just been a rather lightweight gnome.

Sianj didn't particularly like Freeport. As far as people watching from dark rooms in quiet inns, it wasn't as bad as Neriak, but the city was still a little uncomfortable. Northern Freeport offered some relief, thanks to the Paladins and Clerics, but there would still be people watching. Watching Fantasha that is, Sianj corrected himself as he watched the sun set. At night he could roam freely in his unhidden state - expending little to zero energy - for he blended completely with the shadows...
