One thing my father taught me.. Never, ever, EVER start a fight, but always finish it.
I'm not standing in the way of a woman standing up for herself, or anything like that.. I simply will not physically harm her. Its not me. Thats all.

All makes sense, and is actually quite correct. I still suffer from these delusions though.
Course I don't treat anyone as inferior. I'm just overly nice sometimes, and do helpfull things out of habit. I did however adopt rules to curb my own actions. As in, whoever gets to the door first holds it for the other. etc. I cannot hit a woman or child though, unless I knew my life was in danger. ie: Weapons in use. I fear very little from pain in any other respect, so would first attempt a subdue before becoming physically violent to protect myself. One of the reasons I would never make a good soldier. It's just not in me.

NCAA, or club?
I fenced for Air Force, back in the day. Foil for two years, and Epee for two years.
Women only fenced foil back then, but there were only one or two on the team who could beat me occasionally. Reach, speed, and aggressiveness were my main advantages. But the women would often fence us to get better for their own competitions--it would've been a disservice not to fence well against them.
