People actually listen to/read what game reviewers have to say?Seriously?
you generally get even less critical input from people on forums so it's kind of a wash
DEADLY PREMONITION GOTY 2010, RIGHT!?

Trusting anyone else's opinion has always led me to disaster.

There are actually fewer pre-rendered FMVs in this game (the cut scenes are lower in quality than the CG from 12 years ago),

Funny part is that isn't even a pre-rendered cinematic, those are in-game models, still a step down from the pre-rendered ones like

Spreadsheeting has never been so much fun.

Steven Steve must read alot of poetry:
Yes you dumbasses that's what I was saying. Despite the fact that Blizzard has billions more dollars these days they had a grand total of what, like three FMVs in the entire game (as opposed to 10+ in Starcraft and Warcraft 3) not counting the news reports, and the rest was filled in with real-time cut scenes that had less detail than the original CG, showing models from the chest up going through slider-defined expressions (much like Half-Life 2) as they talked about obvious and boring topics. They obviously came up with a more expedient method of inserting movies into the story, which was to model about 4 sets (the bridge, the hangar, the lab, the cantina) and then have their relatively low-poly models standing around stiff talking in the majority of them. Let's go to Tosh - "dere be some odd things about brutha" conversation over. Let's go to Tychus - "Howdy Jimmy, remember those good old days? By the way I will betray you" conversation over. Horner - "I don't like any of our crew members, sir" etc. Yes I know you were swept up in all the excitement of having these same conversations over and over again but when you really think about it, the non-boring and simplistic FMVs were about three or four in number (Kerrigan flashback, Zeratul vs. Kerrigan, the news reports combined, and the end) and were of about the same quality as Warcraft 3.
You have rose colored classes on so thick that I wonder if you can even read what I write.
What goes on in Tosh or Hanson's missions are largely unimportant to the game's ending. Horner's missions play little role in the game's ending, though Piercing the Veil does have an interesting bit of exposition. That leaves the Artifact Missions (not much really happens until the end of the mission chain) and the Prophecy Missions. Oh, and the beginning and ending missions.
What exactly is it that you think happens in Starcraft I?
So I guess this is at the very least 2/3rds of a game.
When did we start evaluating the quality of a game by how many FMV's are in it anyway? Does this make Metal Gear Solid 4 the best game ever since it's got something like 3 hours of FMV time?
And in what universe is MGS4 not the best game ever made?
So basically you've got capture a few relics to build a device, then use the device, and Kerrigan gets captured. That's the entirety of the first campaign. That is all that happens.

A sleep deprived Blindy. stammered:
Let's see... you start a revolution against Minsk, destroy his propaganda arm, find out about a prophesy that for tells the end of the universe, actually interact with hybrids for the first time, deal with the resettlement of a population after a zerg sneak attack wipes out billions of humans, and de-zerg the leader of the zerg.
What exactly is it that you think happens in Starcraft I?
The resettlement really has nothing to do with the main plot. Everything else happens inside the missions I mentioned, and since I've never played SC1 outside of multiplayer, fuck if I know.
Warcraft 3's plot felt like it had quite a bit more going on in it in comparison though.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, ZACH!
Brutal difficulty is... well named. Aside from the usual increase in units/structures, the AI also dances units back under fire, focuses medics/medivacs and does other micro trickery to make shit a lot tougher. Outright nasty. Still debating hating myself well and truly and doing the final mission WITH air units, just to say I did. Might decide to NOT eat my own arm in rage and just do it with the Nydus Worms instead, because frankly the difficulty difference between the two options is SHOCKING.
Makes me happy that Duran wasn't forgotten, although his disguise was... a bit obvious. Him and Tosh gonna have to duke it out for badass black guy placement though in the upcoming expansions
Doing the campaign in under 8 hours for the achievement actually turned out to be more fun than I was expecting. Really promotes doing crazy fucking shit for the sake of saving time.
Being able to buy new spider mines on vultures is my favourite upgrade ever for no reason other than turning my entire base into a glowing ball of explosive death with just 4 vultures
