Supposed to be at work at midnight, instead I was at my local GS picking up my CE of StarCraft2.

I know a LOT of people who are going to be pissed about the CE. The WoW pet is tied to the registration code for SC2 itself. You can't sell the code separate from the game...

Had access to the beta that I never used. Mostly because all I heard about it said it was just pvp setups. Not interested in getting korean curb stomped in a beta.

That being said, holy fuck does it require a bit of muscle to run. Figured that since I was capable of raiding in WoW on my PC here at work that it would do passably in SC2... It worked at 1024x768, but the first mission had a few points that were a little sluggish... and that's without zergling rushes.

It does look pretty though. The 2gb key that has SC/BroodWar on it is actually a nice chunk of metal. The nametag lights up when it's plugged in. Artbook is badass as always. Haven't cracked the soundtrack yet, not sure that I will.

Not sure if I'll even play it anytime soon. Just wanted the CE, because I am a sucker for special and collector's editions.

It's an awesome CE to be certain, but it's not a $100 CE, and yet that's what I paid for it.

Oh well, at least this means my little Thor pet will be more unique!

It's funny how you'll always run into one or two people basically saying this, verbatim. Must be a "buck the trend" impulse, because it certainly doesn't make any sense. SC2 is only $60 normal ed. and it's an amazingly well crafted game with a 97% score on Metacritic.

Why pout and cry about more fun games with Starcraft 2 and not, say, Call of Duty 2, which actually sucked?

Why pout and cry about people pouting and crying when you could stfu since it's not your job to advertise the game and the media is shoving it down our throats enough already?

Sure. Call of Duty sucks exponentially more with each release.

And my SC2 hatin' is tongue in cheek. I'm probably going to get Wings of Liberty anyway once I get fed up with Civilization V. But by then the full battle chest will probably be out.

It comes with the default install yeah, I haven't used it yet but it's supposed to be mega awesome and allow you to make actual scenarios of the sort that you play in the SP campaign rather than just multiplayer maps.

The scenario editor seems... scary awesome

In the campaign there is an arcade machine you can play with a multi-level top down space shooting game controlled by the keyboard, using various SC2 units and such

Was made entirely with the editor

I can't wait to see what people come up with if things like that are possible.

26 fucking awesome missions at that. None of the endless "Here is a starting base, kill all the enemies on the map" ones. Every single one has some sort of special feature/challenge going for it.
