NO YOU SEEE THEY NEED TO MAKE STARCRAFT II EXACTLY HOW THEY MADE STARCRAFT WITH THREE CAMPAIGNS FROM EACH RACE OTHERWISE I WILL BE UPSET.
The reason people are complaining is because the only changes that were actually made from Starcraft 1 were concessions that they needed to make in order to buy Bobby Kotick an Aston-Martin
There are actually fewer pre-rendered FMVs in this game (the cut scenes are lower in quality than the CG from 12 years ago), fewer missions and more that waste your time, the AI is just as retarded as ever, the game lacks any innovations to the RTS genre made in the time since the first one came out and even some before like attack-moving, using multiple units to construct one building (yes I realize this is an upgrade but it makes no sense), or LAN support. If we are being easy then we can say that the campaign progression is only a slight ripoff of Dawn of War 2 (which makes sense since Starcraft is Warhammer 40K). Everything that is possible in Starcraft 2 was possible back in 2000, and in fact pretty much was done in back 2000, continuing Blizzard's trend of rehashing gameplay from decades ago and being magically successful due to sycophantic dicksuckers. All this for the low price of $10 more than the original.
I would have actually preferred this game be more like Diablo, that is, an RPG hack and slash, or maybe even a shooter. Man wouldn't that be incredible if they made a shooter in the Starcraft universe? I wonder why no one ever thought of that. However that would have been a marketing disaster since all the homos that still obsess over Starcraft 1 would cry all over the place and Blizzard would be punished for innovating rather than making the same game every 10 years and copying elements from similar games created 10 years prior.

I'm pretty sure this is a very elaborate troll on Blizzards part.

I guess I'll break the Starcraft bashing trend here, but the differences between God of War 1,2 and 3 were pretty minimal gameplay-wise. New abilities, new cutscenes, etc. But if you've mastered the button timing of the first game you'd do it again on the third. Same goes for Katamari Damacy, Gears of War, and almost every other game.
Why is it that Starcraft is expected to break out of its mold and somehow redefine what an RTS is supposed to be?

prob because something that makes $100,000,000 in the first two days of release is usually remarkable in some way

Seriously?
Has anyone figured out how that works, or was whoever wrote what I've read simply wrong?
I know I went back to replay one and I had access to the turrets on the bunkers. Dunno about advanced units/vehicles though...

I've read somewhere that you can redo missions with all the shiny new units and research you got in later missions.Has anyone figured out how that works, or was whoever wrote what I've read simply wrong?
If you replay a smission you already completed, you get whatever you had at the time
But if you go back and played the "other" option for the missions where you pick which one to do, you get whatever you had currently. The option you went with remembers what you had, but the unpicked one can be breezed through if you go back and do it far later
Also, during the end missions, choose to blow the orbital platform. NOT the Nydus network. You will thank me. So much.

Uh, at the points where you have to pick one mission or another, the 'other' mission that you didn't pick doesn't remember your upgrades at the time, so it just uses whatever you have when you choose to replay it.
