You've always been the same way. You act a lot more fiercely partisan than you like to think you do. You may not be a Republican, but you're so firmly anti-Democrat that the effect is the same.

edit: That said, I actually like Palin a lot more than McCain. Her public persona as shaped by the McCain campaign doesn't seem to accurately reflect her knowledge and ability.

Do you want to know the moment Palin completely lost the debate?

NAILED IT. Palin's ONLY positive addition to McCain's ticket is that she was demonstrably more in touch with the every day American than McCain. She's not a billion years old, she's not married to a billionaire, she's got a kid in the army and she's going to be a 40 year old grandmother. The material practically writes itself. But Biden, with that single response, became about a billion times more sympathetic. Palin sold herself all wrong. She should have tried to press her strength and show her connection. All she did was mention the words soccer and hockey and mom a few times, without really making the case.

And the fact that she was able to speak for an hour without being unable to name the magazines she reads or a single supreme court case besides Row V. Wade is just a testament to how well the republicans were able to adjust the format to protect their candidate. Follow up questions were not part of it. Neither were questions from candidate to candidate. Anyone can rattle off a prepared and memorized statement, including complete idiots like Palin, but she has shown us in every single interview she's given us since she was nominated that the second you try to dig a little deeper, you are faced with the vast empty void that fills the space between her ears.

Internet polls are universally terrible.

I remember Sean Hannity seething when all the Fox News primary polls would say Ron Paul won the debates.

Well, all the polls and focus groups are pretty much saying that Biden won handily. The only exception, which I'm sure is because of all the liberal media conspiritors, was Fox's focus group.

You could argue Palin did better than expected in the debate. She answered a few questions within her comfort areas reasonably well, and more importantly she showed she isn't completely incompetent, which was probably the public image she was battling before the debate.

On the other hand, I don't see how anyone can say she "won" the debate. At least half of her answers were rambling and off topic. There were quite a few questions she basically ignored and used instead to talk about whatever she felt like. She didn't bring very many facts or supporting evidence to the table, and she often used the facts she did have at inappropriate times and Biden called her out on some of her half-truths.

She mispronounced, even got names wrong and overall showed that even when ultra-coached she is unpolished at best.

Fortunately for their campaign, she did significantly better than was generally predicted. It was only a comfortable victory for Biden, not the slaughter many had predicted. I think that the outcome is favorable for the McCain campaign, but in no way shape or form did Palin "win" the debate. It would even be a huge stretch to call it a tie.

Sarah Palin is officially a legend! Hustler Video is shooting a porn with a look-alike titled "Nailin' Paylin." The spelling is sic and so is Hustler. You betcha!

The faux Sarah is Lisa Ann, who "will be nailing the Russians who come knocking on her back-door." In another scene -- a flashback -- "young Paylin's creationist college professor will explain a 'big bang' theory even she can't deny!"

There's also a threeway with Hillary and Condoleezza look-alikes.

The video is in pre-production, but is being fast tracked for release before the election.

Haha Lisa Ann does sort of look like a way more attractive Sarah Palin.

Imagine being picked for your resemblance to Hillary Clinton.

That's got to be depressing.

Yea, I remember hearing about that on the news this weekend. Yay for October surprises, eh?

Palin made this campaign a joke. I'm not a huge fan of either side but there's no chance I'd vote Republican with her on the ticket. Although it has encouraged me to watch SNL lately.

She's just upholding tradition. Every four years each side claims the other has waged, "the dirtiest campaign in American history". Kinda like how every four years the president of the IOC says city X has staged the best Olympic games to date.

Still pretty crazy coming from her, considering her adopted daughter was accused of being a bastard lovechild by the Bush campaign in the 2000 primaries.

Not sure what Obama has done to her husband to top that.
