Hey getting trained in Blackburrow was one of those character building things. Much like the crap your parents made you do that you didn't want to.

Didn't really go to Blackburrow on my trek to level 8 tonight, but for the 3 minutes I was there trying to find a place to get SOME exp at level 2, I did see a nice big gnoll train.

Ended up going to WK with my brother, and killed wandering bears and lion cubs until I got 4, then went to Warrens for the rest of the night.

Highest level when I logged off (a few minutes ago) was one 12 Necromancer.

Now, the trains in Warrens were pretty nasty. One douche kept sending his pet on way out of reach, high level kobolds, and then ran back to unsuspecting groups, wiping them out with ~15 strong kobolds. Except for my group, because I wasn't dumb enough to let the bastard scare me off, or kill me for that matter. Needless to say, that guy is now gone from the server, GM came in and he suddenly disappeared.

Actually yes, there was some kind of funny charm about it, and running and jumping back to the entrance as fast as you could, emerging on the other side to see a druid, a barbarian, a monk, and an enchanter sitting down saying "wow that was close"

I would love to play on the new server, but I'm getting an "can't find the application" error message. I reinstalled EQ, removed files eg eqclient, eqgame.exe, and still that message pops up. It's missing D3ox9_30.DLL. Does anyone had the same problem before?

Please help.

So far, I know that me, Zagg (my brother), Suddar, Fizodeth, and Lyinar (even though I haven't talked to one of her characters yet), are on Sleeper.

If any other ECers are coming back to EQ for these servers, you should play on Sleeper.

One of my favorite things to do when my druid hit 50 was to go back to Blackburrow and put uber-buffs on newbies (when you could still do that) and bust up trains single-handedly. Once I left Blackburrow, I never really grooved on a zone again until Splitpaw. Hmmm, tons of gnolls, underground zone. I'm sensing a pattern here.

There are some of them that aren't no drop.

For example, in North Qeynos there are Gopher Snakes. They commonly drop King Snake parts which are for the Qeynos newbie armor quests. Said King Snake parts generally sell for 2g a piece.

I heartily recommend the large widows in Toxx Forest for money. They frequently drop large amounts of spider silk, spider venom sacs (sell for over 4g each at merchants), woven spider/widow silk (2g at merchants) and widow venom (over 8g at merchants). All the various baby spiders (widow hatchlings especially) are fairly generous with spiderling silk which you can either sell to players in bulk for use in leather padding or use them yourself to make bandages. Spiderlings also drop the woven silks. Right now on my Lv.10 monk I have a full suit of raw silk armor (with netted gloves for hitting wisps) and 85pp in the bank along with about 10 stacks each of spiderling and spider silk I plan on using as bargaining chips with a tailor for when I find one that can make cured silk.

I saw most of the scenery in Norrath because I was a wizard and rather than stand around for hours and shout for a group I'd never get, I went sightseeing. Got really good at avoiding mobs in higher level zones.

They did make it easier as time went on, and LDoN was a gold mine for me because I could finally get a group without too much trouble.

I love how playing a monk goes from "Oh fuck, why didn't I make a mage like everyone else" to "Oh fuck, this was so worth it" the moment you obtain and max out Feign Death.

And then back to "Oh fuck, why didn't I make a mage like everone else" as soon as you get to the point where Clerics are better at pulling than you are.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Up to GoD, when I quit, that never happened. Bards were considered better pullers for most of LDoN, but in my experience that was largely because most Monks sucked.
