The potion descriptions are misleading. What that actually means is that you get 3 fatigue every second for 60 seconds, equalling out to 180 total regained fatigue.

So, those potions you can brew that only give back 4 hp for 15 seconds? They're actually quite, quite useful.

Well, 4 hp for 15 seconds is an actual potion, which equals out to a total 60hp regained. Thats pretty sweet if you ask me.

Just test drink some of the potions you make. I, too, thought at first that all the potions I made blew chunks, then I decided to stop selling them and drink a few just to see. I was pleased with the effect.

The only downside is that they act over time, but the overall recovery is usually better than potions you would otherwise commonly find.

Use better tools and more of them.

Mortal & Pestle is all that's needed, but having the calcinator, albemic, and retort all help increase the power of your potions.

Also, in addition to your recovery potions, there are some utility potions that are very handy (light, nighteye, detect life, feather).

Plus, as an archer, I find poisons invaluable. Especially paralyze. If you are less than 100% camo, poison your arrow with paralyze poison, then shoot, watch them fall down, shoot while they're down with no retaliation, if they get up, repoison with paralyze and repeat.

Even if you don't have the ingredients for Paralyze yet, poisons are still quite useful. Like Silence on caster, or just loading up a tougher oponent with a lot of stat drains with poisons (since you can repoison on each hit). Can make any battle much easier.

Sage: No. I started making potions with mixed Apprentice and Journeyman level items on my thief with a skill of 10.

No, it does. The master versions are just REALLY hard to find. Most common are novice level.

And unlike morrowind, it'll automatically choose the best apparatus for you.

Even at 10 alchemy skill, making a potion with two ingredients of feather with novice apparatuses makes a passable feather potion. But making it with master of all four makes the potion really nice.

I can currently make a potion with like, flax seeds, sacred lotus seeds and two other ingredients that escape me at the moment (All feather) that does like, 1 damage to me, but gives me 400 some odd feather for over 1000 seconds.

I've got apprentice everything, except calcinator, which is novice. Maybe that's my problem.

Also, the majority of utility potions are wasted on me. I've got a ring that lets me breathe under water, boots that let me walk on it, and I can cast a halfway decent feather. I do need something for stealth though.

This thread isn't dying quite yet!

I have found neat things!

First of all, a player-made project that will add quests to the game that will allow you to rebuild Kvatch.

Second, this very sexy looking mod that will be released soon.

The mannequin mod discussed earlier is released and fully functional.

http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2055

This has become extremely interesting. Where it once had a stationary mannequin that could only hold stuff, now it can be posed in different ways

Weapon ready, shield ready, casting animations, sneaking animations, etc.

The models themselves are a bit ugly, but once the armor's on them, you don't notice it at all.

It's meteoric glass (don't ask, it's in one of the books somewhere) that the Elves shaped into weapons and armour, and it's almost unbreakable.

So it's like Elvish armour +1.

Killing guards is not difficult once you get higher level. I could definitely take them at 15, if not a little earlier. And you can always jump them in the barracks without armor.

I think I managed to kill every killable person in the Imperial City in a bit more than an hour. Of course, I was cheating out of my ass by using mods to increase my fist damage to 35, my mana pool to 2500 with almost instant regeneration and I crafted spells such as a 20sec paralyze in 50ft.

Paralyze is such a fun spell. I also love dragging unconcious NPCs over cliffs/building edges before they can reawaken. You can paralyze them as they fall and they'll roll down hillsides in a very amusing manner.

I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Paralyze is overpowered, TBH. Make a 5s paralyze on touch spell and you can just own things with it.

Of course you need a crapload of int and have to practice illusion until you're blue in the face (fucking night eyes spell), but there's always modpcs #....

Bah, who needs to cheat to get a paralyze easily. I just make paralyze poisons from Alchemy.

I've been finding 100% camo to be more overpowered than paralyze though. With 100% camo, you can attack, and attack, and attack, and never, ever get hit, as they just stand around unable to find you. No need for poisons or anything now really, can just practice whatever weaponskill I want to, on anyone I want, with no repurcussions, unless I actually go up and actually talk to a guard.

I'm hoping whenever they come out with the first balancing patch that they make some of the NPCs aware of Detect life potions or spells, to make life more challenging again, as right now, everything is very, very easy.

Ok. Why are clannfears kicking the shit out of me?

I'm in the first oblivion portal outside kvatch and I can kill EVERYTHING in there from the atronochs to the daedra guys, but every time I run into a clannfear I either cheat or die, no midground.

One unblocked hit from them takes out about 1/3rd of my health. A blocked hit with a shield is still like 1/5th. My sword does almost no damage against them. Spells seem to do the trick, but it takes about 5 of my best touch spell to kill it and by the time I've done 4 I'm out of mana.

Is your acrobatics high? If so, dodgerolls (Holding block, a direction of movement, then jumping) at 50 acrobatics are useful against clanfears because if you just continually back up against them they throw themselves at you with a charging like attack until you die. :/

The majority of Clanfear attacks are headbutt attacks. You can dodge them pretty easily, if you have the room to move around.

IMO, best way to take down Clanfear is with some lightning magic. They do a lot of physical damage, and have a reflect damage effect when you hit them with a melee attack.

Edit: So in otherwords, make a lightning spell that is relatively efficient for your character, or make a weapon with lightning damage.

They're one of the game's toughest melee enemies. I actually turned around and left the Kvatch Oblivion realm to go do the first mage guild quests so I could enter the university so I could make some decent lightning magic. When I ran into 2 in some mini dungeon.
