In that vein, I would think that a hugely popular game like SotN, released on a Sony system originally, would get Sony to want it re-released on its own system. But then again, all of this only matters if it absolutely must be released on a hand-held. I still maintain that a console release would be best. I think Konami could make a ton of money if they re-released (and finished) SotN for something like the PS2, and included some stuff like other, older Castlevania games as unlockable extras via percentage uncovered in SotN. That is what I would prefer to see.
I'd damn well love to see Castlevania 3 again, and I'd love it even more to see its graphics overhauled, add equipable stuff to the game, use Alucard's sprite, etc. It was such an awesome game in its day.
I think it would kick serious ass if Konami released a Castlevania 3 Updated/SotN combo.
And yeah, Castlevania (the original) is on Classic NES and I was actually just playing it a couple minutes ago (I HATE DEATH). I don't think they're going to release Simon's Quest any time soon, but it's probable that they would release Dracula's Curse just because they made a sequel to it and it IS a 15 year old game. Most people nowadays that are gonna buy Curse of Darkness probably haven't played, let alone beat Dracula's Curse.
You make it sound like the screen size really makes that terrible of a difference. Once you play Dawn of Sorrow, I think you'll get more how little it really is. Also, just because there was an area or two left out of the American release doesn't make it not a "finished" game. It wouldn't be an option for them not to put the extra crap from the other versions into it, so I'm not gonna worry about it. If it IS remade, then I'll be happy with what I'm given.
(p.s. being able to navigate and travel at the same time is nice for people with little-no patience like myself, that's why I talk about the map like it's god's gift to the world.)

I don't think SotN needs a graphical upgrade, honestly. And again, I said I didn't want a graphical upgrade. I just don't want a graphical downgrade. I am trying really hard not to play the fanboi card on you. A PS2 port would be silly. I don't think it would be. I'd rather play the game on my nice TV than on a hand-held. At least the GBA Castelvanias can be played on my GBPlayer. It's not like it's got goofy controls or dated graphics like an NES or SNES era sidescroller. It's really clean. Yes, it's really clean, which is why I want to see it on a screen that shows this. And yeah, Castlevania (the original) is on Classic NES and I was actually just playing it a couple minutes ago (I HATE DEATH). I've yet to see Konami re-release any game for any system ever. I'd be willing to be proven wrong on this, though. I'm not holding my breath. You make it sound like the screen size really makes that terrible of a difference.
You said something like "I don't think they would waste sprites they've already made for the DS." Well, they've made new sprites for every game so far. Plus, they would be using those sprites, and then wasting what is pretty much the entire remainder of SotN because it would have to be remade and scaled down. When you scale things down, you lose parts of them. Once you play Dawn of Sorrow, I think you'll get more how little it really is. Dawn of Sorrow was made for the DS, not ported to it. Also, just because there was an area or two left out of the American release doesn't make it not a "finished" game. I call that unfinished. It wouldn't be an option for them not to put the extra crap from the other versions into it, so I'm not gonna worry about it. (p.s. If you've ever played Dynasty Warriors for the PSP, you'll see that they only use about 60% of the screen, and I am estimating that, so don't quote me some exact ratio that I could care less about, and use the rest of the screen for battle info, like the mini map and such. If we got a port to the PSP, they would likely be too lazy to retrofit the game to the widescreen standard. This would mean that they could basically do the same thing, and you could have your on-screen map as well. I still doubt a re-release will happen, though.)[qb][/QB]
It's pretty bad when I'm calling you on it.

They did remake Golden Axe.I just think it sucked.
Oh...well that's rather shitty. For which system? I'm referring to the Genesis version, that's the one I have memories with.
Also, hearing how assfuckingly-bad Invisible War was, I never bothered playing it. Is it worth it? Completely loved the first one. Lost count of how many times I've played it through.

Golden Axe is part of a tri-pack of Genesis games ported to GBA.
(The other two were Sonic 1 and Ecco the Dolphin)
The Sega Smash Pack is the name of the collection. Mr. Gainsborough fucked around with this message on 11-04-2005 at 01:56 AM.
Thanks for the info though Gains
Also, I think they should remake The Adventures of Bayou Billy so it doesn't have shitty hit detection!

key word: fanboiIt's pretty bad when I'm calling you on it.
So then, what kind of fanboi am I being? A PSP fanboi? Did you miss the part in one of my earlier posts in this thread about how I am going to sell my PSP and buy a DS and I still think it would be better released on the PSP? Of course, that's if it had to be released on a handheld.
Am I a Sony fanboi? Because I said I'd like to see a PS2 release? I actually said something like the PS2. I could give a rat's ass whether it was a PS2, GameCube, X-Box, or even a re-release on a PSX disc as long as they "finished" it. Granted, I'd rather see if on the PS2 or Gamecube because I actually own those systems, an XBox release might get me to buy one.
Honestly, what kind of fanboi am I being? I'm not trying to have this come off as some kind of arguement between us. But you are adamant about it coming to the DS. I want it to be for anything but the DS or GBA. And I am going to trade in my PSP for a DS. Konami would rather attempt to emulate SotN with "new" games than re-release it. I think even you can see that.
Just because I own a PSP doesn't make me a fanboi. I'm actually an unsatisfied customer.
And Dens, you're not a Sony fanboi, or a PSP fanboi; you're a SotN fanboi.
It's ok, I feel your pain.

And I was all like 'Oh yeah?' and Mr. Gainsborough was all like:
you're a SotN fanboi.
Oh. That's okay, then.
