Kinda like my old thread where I'd ask about those hidden gems that noone ever really played but were awesome games for the few of us that picked em up, I'm making this thread.

What older game would you like to see remade?

Me, I'd have to say one of my old hidden gems, Unholy War. It was a simple strategy game and a fun fighter that my friend and I spent hours on every single time he'd come over. I would absolutely love to see it redone wit PS2 level graphics...it would be so much better.

Planescape: Torment. I don't know if it was rushed or the programmers just sucked, but the sound was all different volumes and broken and stuff, plus it'd have much better graphics (Even though for the time it's were pretty good.) Despite the crappy sound and alot of other little things, it's still an insanely awesome game so I really wanna see a "Finished" version.

Xenogears...but I don't have to wish, I just have to wait.

From what I understand, Xenogears is part 5 of the 7 part saga that is Xenosaga. It will be remade when the time comes, and they will finish it. You knew the original was incomplete, yes? Mostly the combat system, along with a few pieces of story and such.

I was under the impression they had abandoned the 7 part thing and were wrapping it up at 5.

There will be no more Xenosaga after the current one is finished. The final game is going to be called Also Sprach Zarathustra

Mechwarrior 2 Mercs and Stonekeep.

Or maybe just a sequal to Stonekeep, cus the first was pretty damn awesome.

Other than those two, Id have to say Battletech 1, with extra stuff.

Planescape: Torment. I loved the hell out of it and really want more. Closest approximation to video-game art I can imagine.

The Legend of Dragoon, if only so I can see what it would be like polished. The game was really cool for a traditional RPG, but felt a bit rough, especially in its translation. I'd love to see it all polished and beautiful.

Not exactly a remake, but I want a good new Breath of Fire. I love the series ever-so-much but Dragon Quarter just depressed me. Please bring it back as good as it was in 3 and 4.

I'd agree with this. I'd also like to see the sequel that was alluded to when the first one came out. >:[

One thing I liked about LoD is how far the plot had moved by the end of the game. The story at the very end makes you almost entirely forget that the beginning of the game was even the same game.

As I've said before and I will continue saying until I die, stop gaming, or it occurs... I would absolutely love to see a graphics-overhauled, de-Nintendo-ified Final Fantasy 6. And I'd want to see actual work go into it, as opposed to the few added cutscenes that were added to it for the PSX remake.

Breath of Fire 2 would be nice too if they did a better translation, and added some features and plot points to smooth out the bland areas of the game. (Highfort? I'm looking at you.)

I'd love to see an updated Metroid 2: Return of Samus for the GBA or something. The original was a good game, but it felt pretty constrained because of size limits on the gameboy. I'd love to see it updated and overhauled like Zero Mission was.

Star Tropics could probably be made pretty awesome too. It's been a long time since I played it, but it's one of the few NES games I remember at all because of how good it was.

Hmmm... I'm sure there's more I can think of, but those are the four that immediately spring to mind.

Like Vernal said: Loom. That would be awesome.

I'd rather like to see the entire Final Fantasy series remade. But I'm a fanboy like that. Perfecting something is glorious.

Zelda 1 and 2 should both get remade. I like the simplicity in the original Zelda. It was nice, felt -right.- It had what games lack nowadays: a coherent plot. I, as some little boy wearing green, knew exactly what I needed to do. Now there are deities and background plots and yada yada. I respect that, but want something I can enjoy.

Earthbound would be fantastic remade.

No, not really. It was, for a long time. And it's the father for one of my favourite game genres, so don't get me wrong. I've played it for hundreds of hours, but if you look at it today, there's nothing, NOTHING, that hasn't been done better these days. It's is amazingly boring.

What it would need to make it competetive today is not a remake, but a complete revamp.

I want a new Tribes game that doesn't suck like Tribes: Vengeance.

I'd really enjoy running through FF7 remade, but oho I'm a fanboi in that sense. Along with that, FFTactics could be done to better effect, throw in cutscenes/voice acting/summons-that-are-animated.

Yes.

The closest they came to was a fighting game called Golden Axe: The Duel.

It was kind of fun, too, if only because you could be an elf that turned into liquid or some weird critter that turned people into frogs.
