I guess you haven't seen a crew bunk in a submarine have you, not even room for lefty or righty. The Trunk on VW rabbit had more space than on of those bunks.

Actually I have. They've got one parked at the carnegie science center!

It's an old one though.

Actually I think he's right. Last I heard, they didn't station women on submarines. Something about "cramp quarters as it is, no room to make allotments for female personnel" or something to that effect.

They Don't allow Females on cause:

1. Once your onboard, you stay onboard...See on surface ships you can leave and sometimes you get some girls on board that decide they don't like the Navy all of the sudden, get themselves preggers and off the ship, that can't happen on a sub. And as far as I know, here is now way they can enforce any form birth control

2a. While there may be exception to this, Females become rather, well bitchy every so many days, this can cause many problems when you packed like sardines on top of each other.
2b. Being tightly packed, and needing everyone to nice and copasaic as possible, the last thing you need to introduce is one of the biggest reason men compete and fight each other. Nor do you need lover’s spats popping up

O-Ho So why do they not have an all female crew? Cause nobody in the USN has been completely retarded enough to give a completely unseasoned, inexperienced crew control of a nuclear capable boat

Also I think there is a little thing that has to do with the reactor crews, but that i am unsure of.

So basically women will never, ever, ever be allowed on submarines.

Nice.

I still find it stupid that women cant join the ranks of combat personel, like Infantry, Armor, and such. I say, if you are physically fit and mentally tough enough for the job, why must gender be an issue?

Because They must cater to the Majority, not those that are exceptions to the rules.

Take Infantry, Sure anybody can Shoot a gun, but the Modern Infantry men carry something around 50 pounds of gear into battle, if I remember right fully deck out a US army Infantry men carry as much weight into battle as most knights did..You know the last time I was in gym class I can only remember about say 10 out the 200 girls in that class period that could carry that and do the marching and fighting.

I believe in the Air it has been the severe lack of data on female Physiology and the lack of Equipment skewed to the female anatomy that has excluded them.

But if you think there's 10 in one gym class, imagine 8000 other gymclasses.

Of those 10, how many would be interested in the armed services?

I'm sure it's lack of interest that has kept women out. If they were beating down they door, the army would be forced to accomodate them.

The reason I think that there are no women in combat arm is as simple as this:

We, as a nation, are not ready to see 18 year old girls come home in body bags.

Dear god no. The worst thing was the k-pots, which were freaking uncomfortable when you have razor burn from a shave-and-go, and the sweat from being under that thing in 95 degree weather

Yeah, but it's the perceived difference. Dying in a plane is much less personal than bleeding out from a gunshot wound.

because minorities make the country function. If you had no women (the minority), you'd have no children. no children, no future soldiers.

(And to boot, there'd be no one to fight, y'all would get killed off, and then there's the end of the USA. Because there's not women.)

This has probably already been said, but too lazy to read it all.

There is a small percentage of women who would even want to, much less are in shape for it. The way I see it, it's all or none. They either sign of for the draft just like us, or stay off the battlefield. Except, frankly, It wouldn't work. I would NOT want some soccer mom talking about how heavy the gear is and we are moving to fast and she doesnt want to hurt anyone if I was in combat. I'd most likely end up shooting her myself. Anyways, the general idea here is that the majority of women today are simply not cut out for combat.

*ahem* Women are trained in exactly the same way as men in the Army. And with the exception for the five mile run the Infantry requires as apposed to the normal two-mile run, one basic training is just like any other basic training. The women still have to lug around the gear and keep up with their male counterparts in training. The only difference is that the military is softer on the PT test requirements for women.
