It means nothing to you people, heck even I dont wear my makeup that often, but Its very much a part of who she is and shes not going to take it off for them, but whatever she mite tone it down I dunno its our problem now and will figure this out.

Why is it *THAT* importaint that she'd leave her job over?

She just can't live with out it the hours she's at work? I mean it's not like she can't /gasp put it on when she gets off, or on her days off!

I understand what you are saying BlueMage, but you actually have no way of knowing if Voragos hat means that much to him, or is a part of who he is, it may very well be the essence of his existance, but yet, if he were asked to remove it, he stated he would.

Your friend is not willing to change, so she was left only with leaving, that was her choice, she could have changed the make up, she decided not to change.

If it bothers any of you three that much, phone up the manager and ask why the change. Though it really doesn't matter, maybe the manager just has a personal distaste for gray.

I have no doubt she will be able to find a job that will accept how she chooses to present herself. I wish her luck in that search.

She should've been fucking happy she had a job in the first place. Theres plenty of people unemployeed(Me, Aani, Dens) who'd really love a job right now. But for me and Aani, the markets dry like a desert at noon in the summer.

You missed my whole point entirely. She wasn't Notified of any change in the dress code policies. Had she been told about the change, she probably would have. (I'm assuming...)

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

Then customers were complaining. Customers complain, then they boycott. Boycotting leads to low sales. Low sales means no income. No income means the store goes out of business and everyone gets laid off. So it'd be easier anyway if she'd just stop putting the makeup on and just went with what was suggested.

This is funnier than Mog accepting the Pulitzer.

Time to learn something, douchebags. The world works a lot differently than your whiny little selves would like it.

You can pit yourself against it, if you want, but the truth of the matter is a horny little fapmaster and Depressio the Goth Clown aren't going to win a battle against a bigger, better foe who has every right to win in the first place.

If your friend doesn't want to conform, I hope she has fun working the school cafeteria lunchline.

And now, I will proceed to giggle at RedMage trying to call Goth a 'state of mind' as an argument.

1. This is tired, were not gonna agree, lets all just let it die, I know i have prevented this before but now Im saying this is done, you dont understand where Im coming from (some do dont get me wrong), and I dont agree wit you so thats it.

2. Believe me she can and will get a job just like she is, but that doesnt matter thats our problem not yours.

Note: over the past week two week period, she was told thurough a fourth person that the manager didnt like her makeup, then before her last shift she was called in and told she stops the makeup or shes fired, so she said fine Im fired. There was no offical notice of no heavy makeup or any indication of change of policies

but If I was a Manager/Owner of a store and I wanted to change the dress code, I would have a staff meeting, or some other means of communicating to my employees these changes, and when they will take effect.

Uh, excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't that exactly what happened? Manager uses means of communicating with employee (phone call) informing them of the change (no more makeup) and when it takes effect (immediately).

I fail to see why anyone needs a "transitional period" to stop wearing makeup, the makeup that is simultaneously "not anything exhorbitant", and yet so "important to her", and for some unspoken reason it managed to attract the attention of her new manager. I call shenanigans. Something's fishy here. Obviously there's more to this story that you're not letting on.

She needs a period of mourning where she weeps for the loss of her beloved makeup.

It's simple.

Day one: No lipstick.
Day two: No blush
Day three: No eye liner
Day four: No eye shadow

There's the transitional period.

Okay, this will be my only post in this thread, due to me getting my ass kicked tomorrow.

1. You guys don't understand this girl... her makeup is what shows her emotions and (yes) it's a part of who she is. The fact is, it could just as easily be baby blue, but do you really think the manager would've fired her over that color? I don't.

2. I offered to take her resume to Leon's with me... they have no problems with stuff like that,

3. It's over, give up and shut up.

That is all.

edit: I really don't appreciate you guys making fun at the expense of my friend.

This kinda sums up how how I feel about most of these sorts of threads on the boards.

And, if you keep asking why it was okay for her a year ago to wear it at her work, and not okay now... You know, the company could have had a change in policy, a change in image, etc. etc. etc.

It's not Baby Blue, it's grey. Sorry to say, but certain shades and tones just aren't considered standard in our society (not even in Canadian society, ).
They're not suited to a work environment that's trying to project certain (maybe new) images.

End of story. She can try and find a new job. But they have every right and every ability to do it.

She really needs to learn to not get so attached to the make up. Besides if a lot of these people who are particularly fond of that sort of make up (as an expression of emotion, or what have you) were REALLY as deep and insightful as they claimed, make-up wouldn't make a difference...

Eh, I admit, I'm a shallow, base, human being, and I am prone to emotional and biased opinions.
