fixed that for ya
Uh... Where'd they go?
...Damnit, if everyone would've gotten outta my way, it would've been over by now...
I scoff at your supposed pain and torment. I have seen far worse then anything you can dare to throw at me, you poor wretch.
But this place seems a bit .. Gloomy for my tastes. Where did I put tha- AH! there it is.
From his bag he produces a sword, sheathed and carefully wrapped. He quickly undoes the small magical wardings upon the wrap, and sets the sheath upon his belt.
I love this thing.
He quickly unsheathes his sword, and a brilliant light envelops everything in the room, sending it shrinking back into the darkness from which it came. The brightness dulls as your eyes adjust, and all that is left is a single burning sword in his hands.
Now, I know evil. He slowly steps towards the throne as he speaks. I know when to cooperate with evil to vanquish a greater evil. Means to an end, you see.
However, I dont take kindly to evil, and rather pitiful evil at that, taking me to a place against my wishes.
So this ends now.
He stands before the throne and slams the blade of his sword into the ground, the flames leaving and spreading across the floor. his companions are unharmed, but Hipolyta and the "Mistress of Pain" along with her staff are consumed utterly by pure holy fire.
While you burn, I think I'll just quaff this wonderful potion I made. Takes me to the dwarves.. but.. Eh. At least they give me good prices.
After a few seconds, he dissapears without a trace, as echos of laughter fill the room.

I still ... I still need to know what it is you're really looking for. You say you want Deth's head, but why? If you really wanted revenge, it would be everybody else's heads but his you would ask for. Not that I'm suggesting anything. Is it because you're necro-something or other, and can copy the abilities of people you get ahold of? Are you hoping that somewhere in his head is the way to escape your existance, and end the pain you talked about? If so, there IS another way...
If not, I'll begin running now. If Deth made you once, he can make another like you to defend himself. If desperate, I bet he will. We have a better chance with your game.

Raising a hand, she gestures at the boned maw behind you, and a portal opens up. She gestures that you move forward. As you pass through the opening of the maw you can feel it pulsating, and see the tormented faces of it's victims looking at you in pain.
With no warning the maw closes, and you can feel yourself being crushed in it's massive jaws. And then there is blackness...
When you come to neither of you see the other, but you each see the same thing.

The room you have entered smells particularly pleasant, especially considering where you just left. It is roughly square with a window on one side, and a stairway on the other leading up. However the stairway appears to end at a flat brick wall. Thinking the open window is the easy escape you check it out, and notice that there is only blackness beyond, and doom below. In the middle of the room lays a flower that is wilting which appears to have a bare child sleeping on its petals. He does not appear well. There is a vase that is that stands in the middle of a dais. In the vase are three other flowers, and each appears to hold a person inside their petals. One of another child, one of a woman who appears to be looking at the dying child-flower, and one that looks exactly like you. You seem to even be able to feel what it feels as it looks back at you from the petals. There appears to be no water, or nourishment of any kind for the dying child-flower anywhere, and no room in the vase for another. A statue behind the dais appears to be looking at the empty vase, and holding out a hand as if expecting something, and in the other hand he holds a dagger. On the statues forehead is a description that reads. What is the price of life?

Zaile comes to in the strange room. He looks around for a couple of minutes, then realizes what's missing. "My darts! My steel claws! My armor!!" He takes a couple of minutes to fashion the remaining cloth parts of his outfit into a loincloth, trying to ignore the holes in the cloth that are disturbing reminders of feeling the jagged walls crushing him. he then walks over to examine the flowers and statue.

With that, Zaile picks up the flower from the floor, and switches it with the flower that bears the replica of himself. He places that flower on the open hand of the statue, and (attempts to) takes the dagger.
"Well?", he asks the statue. "Even if this doesn't kill me, it's gonna hurt. Can we please get this over with?"

Being the first to solve the task, you gain the benifit. There is a second option for Zariin, but the flower version of him has dissapeared from the vase and there is no longer enough sustanance in the vase to support another flower. The dagger remains in your room.
As you place the flower in the statues hand it swiftly crushes it, and places the remains in the vase. For a second you felt pain, but it quickly passed, only to be replaced by a feeling of peace. You feel better than you did before you entered.
The dagger dissapears as soon as you give him the flower.
At the top of the stairway a door mysteriously appears. On a plaque mounted in the center of the door are the words "Sacrifice". It swings open easily and opens into another room beyond.

In this room sits an enfeebled old man. He explains to you that in his life before this prison he took too many gifts for granted. The door appears to have no apparent latch to open it with. The old man tells you that in one of these chest is an endless meal, but one chest also contains certain doom. He cannot solve the riddle, and he cannot figure out how to leave the room. All he says is that solving the riddle solves another riddle that is What is gained from life? and the door will open.
As you examine the chests they are labeled "Chest of Truth" and "Chest of Betrayal". A sign on the Chest of Truth says, "The sign on the Chest of Betrayal is true and the meal is in the Chest of Truth ". A sign on the Chest of Betrayal says, "The sign on the Chest of Truth is false and the meal is in the Chest of Truth ". Assuming there is food in one of the chests, which chest contains the food?

More than that. For a wizard you're not very perceptive.
Look it's like this: The basic physiotype She's based on has been gleaned from near on to a dozen EC females. Everyone from Solstyce to Lazuli to Lyinar to Ferrel. Even some Mystiana in there I think. All their inherent morphic abilities, right? And given some of the people I got samples off of, that's quite a healthy stack of stuff.
Anyway...then I gave her certain preset dispositions. The big one was that she was hopelessly in love with Mort. Problem was I didn't cap it off with any preset limits. More on this in a second.
Then I killed her before she woke up the first time, and before I let her out of the gestation tank. Took a sword (Mort's sword, I think. Or Pesco's. Can't remember) and ran it through her. She died. Dead. And then she got better.
I tried to mimic some of Mortious's abilities to reform his necroplastic form in Lyta. So she's got a lot of Mort's abilities too...Plus a lot of other nasty traits. She's got Solstyce's magical affinity, Lyinar's cunning, Ferrel's holy might (or unholy depending on how you look at it), Mystiana's chemical resistance. Smart as all of them, and wise.
I thought I was being nice. Mort seemed lonely so I made him a mate. Then he went and rejected her. Man did that suck.
She went loco. Started thinking she had to kill her morphic "mothers" to have his attention solely to herself. When she got out of hand I tried to stop her and she almost killed me before fleeing.
So I made Geeorn a new eye that would in theory catch her off guard and should severely injure her. He'd have one shot. She'd learn fast. They battled, he took the shot, but she'd learned some new tricks while she was away. She was adapting, learning to use all her creator-given gifts in combination. He blasted her, but it didn't mortally wound her. And then she got away again.
And she's not stupid. She learns from her mistakes. Geeorn's new eyeball won't work this time. Anti-undead measures don't work for one thing because she's not a vampire or a zombie or a ghost or anything other form of undead. And she's not a golem. She's something in between with the best traits of each and none of the fallacies.
Blow her up and she'll reform. How many times have we seen Mortious get annihilated only to schlep himself back together?
The ONLY good side to this is that she can't breed. She's dead. Getting a male sample to parent with wouldn't be hard; under that armor she wears she's actually not unattractive (another gift to Mortious). But she can't have kids. She doesn't have access to my knowledge of how she was made (it's in my head) so it's not like she can upgrade herself or make more like her.
On the other hand she doesn't age, regenerates, has most of our benefits and none of our weaknesses. In my honest opinion fighting to kill her is stupid. I'd think fighting to drive her off would work better, with the minimum number of casualties on our side.
But hey maybe I'm a proud pappy who doesn't want to see his creation destroyed. LAST time she showed up, when I wheeled out Big Deth, everyone seemed to think my loyalties were divided.

A small Eye of Zomm floats up, and Palador's voice can be heard to echo through it, as if from a great distance.
"No, she hasn't been killed. She's just been physically disrupted and destroyed. For her, the physical form springs forth from her power, not the other way around. Trying to destroy her by attacking her physical body is like trying to stop a waterfall by draining the water out of the pool at the bottom. It just doesn't work. Sure, it may look effective, but it only painfully annoys her. That body is only the tail end of her power.
"Now, if she comes back, we may have a chance. If Zaile has managed to get a good hit into her with one of those feathers, and if she reacts like I expect her to..."
(OOC: Some of the stuff ignored was "projecting". That's where you say "I did this to you", rather than "I attempt to do this to you". Projecting can break a RP just as easily as godmoding, because there's no way to respond to it. So, it's often just ignored. Notice that I had Zaile throw the darts, but left it up to her as to if they hit or not. It's up to them to be fair about responding to it.)
(OOC 2: For those that are wondering, this is an old RP bit that sometimes pops back up. Yes, she really is this powerful, almost a god. Zaile's comparing her to the Sleeper isn't far off. She's not godmoding, she really IS that powerful. Her turning up here is like the awakened Sleeper popping into Skyshrine to knock heads. Also, she didn't just declare herself to be this nasty, she was created as an NPC, then handed off to someone else that could do the character justice. (as I recall, right?) )
(OOC 3: I don't like to stick big chunks of OOC into a RP thread, but I figured that it might be needed here. And now, back to the story.)
