And no, Fala, I don't think she's summoned. Least *I* didn't summon her. She's not my responsibility. Not my fault.

The ceiling slowly and unobtrusively changes, obscuring the hanging bodies in a veil of darkness pierced by tiny pinpricks of twinkling light...
BATTLE OF THE GODMODERS! ROUND ONE!
quote:
Zaile Ronso thought this was the Ricky Martin Fan Club Forum and wrote:
Zaile whimpers, his whole body drooping with dispair. "Oh no... I've heard this riddle before, but I could never solve it! I'm dead! I'm ...", he brightens, "I'm going to cheat!"He quickly fills the three litre barrel, and then dumps it into the five litre barrel. He mutters to himself as he works. "Ok, three in the five. It needs two more." He refills the smaller barrel, then uses that to finish filling the larger barrel. "There, two more liters to make five, leaving only one in the small one. Now, to cheat..." He sticks his hand into the three liter barrel, and uses his natural claws to mark the water level. "There, three minus two is one." He dumps out the last of the water in the smaller barrel, and uses the five liter barrel to fill it to the claw mark. "And, five minus one is the four I need!"
Zaile dumps the four liters of water out of the barrel and into the lock. "After all", he mutters, "if she doesn't do what people expected her to do, why should I? Or... is that the idea here?"
(Well technically that was skirting the methods, but due to ingenuity I can't really condemn it, and you DID find a means to an end. I really have no choice but to let it pass. Good job! ^_^ )
After triggering the water lock, the walls cease to move and a door appears. The door opens easily, revealing the room beyond. On the door is the word "Determination."
quote:
This room is bare save an open doorway that shimmers in the sunlight. Yes it is sunlight; you can see the world beyond its threshold. All that stands between you, and the safety of the world above, is a woman who stands as still as granite that you cannot approach. She turns to you and says, "You have done well, and survived the game. You have paid the price of life to learn the wisdom of life with the determination to overcome your obstacles. Success is but a question away. The answer to which is the point of this journey, and the reason you have seen what you have seen. Answer correctly then freedom, and possibly understanding shall be yours.
"What can never be bought, never be sold, never be traded, but is the most valued possession you can own?"
She stands there, stoically, awaiting your answer.
"No. If I answer, right or wrong, then I don't get to ask this again.
"What is it YOU want? Not what you are going for, but what is it you really want? You're so centered on life, and death. Is that what you want? A mortal life, free from what you were made to be? A life that will play it's way through, then end?"
He wipes at a trickle of blood coming out of his nose.
"If that's what you want, there is a way for you to have it. To be remade, reborn as a mortal. Is that what you really want, but didn't think you could have?
"Say that it isn't, and I'll answer your question. It will be over. But, say that it is, and I'll tell you how to do it. It's just a matter of knowing..."

ACES! Another post by Zaile Ronso:
Zaile sways slightly on his feet, stress and bloodloss having slowly taken their toll."No. If I answer, right or wrong, then I don't get to ask this again.
"What is it YOU want? Not what you are going for, but what is it you really want? You're so centered on life, and death. Is that what you want? A mortal life, free from what you were made to be? A life that will play it's way through, then end?"

"Say that it isn't, and I'll answer your question. It will be over. But, say that it is, and I'll tell you how to do it. It's just a matter of knowing..."
You can here Hipolyta's voice echoing through the chamber from someplace distant.
"Is that what you think? That I want a mortal life? That I would give up what I am for the chance to die?..." She laughs. 'If that is your belief, then you haven't really learned anything. What I want should become clear if it hasn't already, and if it hasn't then you have failed. Alive or Undead, creation or being. I am more alive than you will ever be... Other than that, I choose to discuss nothing... For now."
"Self."
"I may change, and I may suffer, but I am still me. If I lose my 'self', my own will and identity, then I'm worse than dead. If you lose your 'self', then you have lost everything. Will, determination, life, memories, love, pain, joy, sorrow, hopes, and fears. Everything comes from self. Even ghosts have it, because it extends beyond life."
Zaile looks up at the ceiling, addressing the voice. "But your 'self' is flawed. You were made from the echo of others. You scream and rage and hate, but deep inside, you're still trapped within the shadows of others. You hide your lack of 'self' behind power and pain and life, but you still feel it. The emptyness inside, deeper than you can reach. And all you can do is to try harder and harder to fill that emptyness, but it's never enough.
"Maybe someday, your 'self' will stand free of the shadows that break it. Someday, but not today...
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go tell your daddy what a nasty host you are."

Somewhere, in the distance, on a lonely throne by herself, Hipoltya sits. Crying....
... is it safe yet?
"Oh good. There's still two left. Mr Deth, can you come over here for a moment? And bring a healer?"
With that, Zaile collapses to the ground.

How well you did determined whether you could continue or not, or whether you were too hurt to go on. The point scale was the higher the number for the solution the better. Getting a 1 or a 0 being the worse. Except for the last room.
The first room had two solutions for a total of two points. Scoring 1 would get you hurt but able to go on, scoring 2 you'd move on as normal.
You scored 2
Second room had three options, with only one being correct, for a possible score of 3. At this point you would also need a score total of 3 to move on to the next room.
You scored a 1 in this room, but scored 2 in the last room for a total of 3. You could move on.
Third room had two options with only one RIGHT one. However in this room, it was elimination. So you could have gotten a 0 for picking the wrong option, or a 1 for the right one. You needed a total of 4 to move on to the final room.
You scored a 1 here plus your previous 3 for a total of 4.
Last room was for story element. It was just an extra question.
This whole thing was pretty much the result of boredom, but I'm glad you got involved. I hope you had at least some fun, or I provided an enjoyable distraction. ^_^)
Don't worry big sis, I'll find you! Next time, we can have fun! we can sing happy songs together! Yay!

quote:
Azymyth hops down from his perch where he's been keeping a silent watch the whole time and comes to stand next to Zaile. Reaching out a hand to the Vah Shir, he smiles a bit, "Perhaps I can help?"
Zaile doesn't answer, and is clearly out cold. Upon closer examination, it becomes clear that there is alot of blood soaked into his black fur, and it all appears to be his.
(OOC: Yah, it was very fun. Although, I'm kinda suprised that nobody ever asked what was really so important about those feathers... )

So... Is that it? Is it all over now?...Can I stop hiding?
(OOC)
It's all over except for one small thing:
In two day's time, when Deth lets Zaile out of the bioreactor, Zaile will make an incredable (but futile) attempt to smash Deth's face in with his fists, while screaming at him for ever being stupid enough to have made something like her.
After he's restrained, he'll tell him about the "second choice" he was given, but didn't take.
