...oh and POST!
Everything is better.
Graphics are MUCH better.
Voice acting! A little more of the characters' personalities are revealed.
The final boss is a lot better. What seems more feasible, a huge fugly destructive creature-thing that has terrorized the world for centuries, or some kind of alien/human crossbreed that weilds a big sword and whose only real desire is to destroy the planet?
The battles are better. ATB was annoying. There were times when the difference between winning and losing the game was timing, one hit from either side and there would be a winner. You hit "Fight" and got ready to deliver the killing blow... A millisecond too late. The enemy killed you and did nasty things to your corpse.
In FFX, battles are turn-based, and the amount of turns someone gets in a battle is entirely dependent on their speed. You can even see the forecasted turn order, and certain actions you take can change that turn order (Eg. Tidus using a normal attack will start the enemy's turn. Tidus using Quick Hit will be able to get another hit in there.)
I found the story a lot better. For the entire good part of FF7, you were searching for Sephiroth, and you had to kill him. In FFX, Tidus wants to find Sin from the beginning, but that's because he wants Sin to take him back home to Zanarkand- Because after all, Sin took him to Spira, he can probably get him back. Tidus eventually learns that Sin is Jecht, his father (*Breathing noises...* "Tidus... I am your father..."), and Jecht took Tidus to Spira because he hated what he had become (which was Sin) and wanted Tidus to kill him.
And besides... FFX has WAKKA! How can you beat Wakka? There's just no beating Wakka, ya?

FFX > FF7.
Excuse me while I go in a corner and twitch.
Materia was the funnest magic system I have EVER encountered.
EVER!
Not to mention, it had a shitload of summons. I loved the Hadies summon. (Not to mention linking the Hadies materia to Add-Effect materia in a weapon).

FFX has the sphere grid. Not only can you learn spells from it, but it's the only way charatcers can advance. This is both good and bad.
The good part is, you aren't limited by level 99. You can advance your characters as much as you want, just as long as you can get the sphere levels.
The bad part is, it's a little more confusing than Materia.
However, in FF7, you could only have a certain amount of materia on your characters, and if you wanted more, you either needed more slots or you needed to remove existing materia and unlearn all the magic that came with it.
In FFX, when you've learned a spell, you have it forever.
And also, in FF7, characters weren't that customizable, and went by a general kind of archetype. Cloud did mad damage with his big sword, Barrett had a lot of HPs, etc.
In FFX, you can customize characters. Purple spheres can be put into empty grid nodes, and any purple sphere can be placed in an empty node- HP, MP, ability/spell, et cetera. Also, with the correct Key Sphere (or a warp sphere), you can take one character to another character's part of the grid, and have that character learn THOSE abilities, too.
That is why, in my opinion, FFX > FF7. FF7 doesn't SUCK, mind you, but FFX is better.

Two words: Cait Sith.
He's obviously more powerful than Wakka in EVERY WAY! Think about it, He's not really a living creature at all! He's more like a possesed doll.
Now, we've all seen from the 'Chucky' series that Possesed dolls > humans.
Secondly, Cait Sith, (Formerly known as just Cait, until he turned to the Dark side.) IS A JEDI KNIGHT! He's Midgar's lord of the Sith! So, to recap; a possed doll, who's also a dark lord of the Sith; against a beach bum with a volleyball...right...
Match: Cait vs. Wakka
*Cait gets the first attack, and screams into his microphone. Wakka pretty much ignores it as he knocks Cait off his moogle bean bag with a blitzball. Then, Wakka begins pummeling Cait into the ground with the hard rubber ball.
WINNER: WAKKA.*
Cait Sith: can cast summons with only minor adjustments to the materia in his megaphone.
Wakka: Can cast magic, but only after LONG hours of training him up to that point.
To recap: Knights of the Round > Blitzball.
Anywho, we're going against the spirit of the thread. So, let's drop it and return to flinging PEZ and feces, alright?
"We bring you PEZ! PEZ AND DEATH!"
Ah-hahahahaha! Wipeout!
But I'm still winning.

Now, if that had been me, I would have thrown it at everyone ELSE. But watchin' you throw it at everyone (while disgusting) was interesting, 'cause you nailed yourself with it as well.

Ok, but let me say one more thing. I have yet to play FFX (I really, REALLY want to, but lack the PS2), but I doubt it has anything as cool as Yuffie going apeshit postal all over someone's ass with an origami swan. We've already had a debate about some FF games; but nobody has said anything about the FF movie!
I liked the stunning visuals, (obviously) and the action scenes. My main rants are that the plot was too confusing, (At least for the first 3 times watching it.) and the whole movie felt rushed. (They were trying to cram an entire FF plot into a single movie!)
Does anyone have any comments?
FFX is, IMNSHO, better than FF7, but I still enjoy FF7 much.

The voice acting sucks for most of the people, "You're a bad man" and "stay away from the summoner"? Its great for some people.. but sucks for everything else.

One-Winged Angel didnt want to destroy the planet, he wanted to damage it and "kill" himself in the process, so he could merge with it and become god.
The story for FFX is indeed better.

You could graft them to be whatever you wanted in FFVII, thats why the Materia had stat changes and other stuff like that.
In my party, Cloud was a Black Mage crossed with a Fighter, Yuffie was a Fighter, she did more damage that Cloud for some reason, and Tifa was the White Mage.
I'm slowly playing through FFX, at first I didnt really like it, just didnt look that great, but its looking better. I just slept at the inn in the Highgrounds... Highroads.. the place after the Luca Tournament [ 01-13-2002: Message edited by: Otku ]
