I can vouch that the forums fiasco was courtesy of Gains, not Waisz, though Waisz was certainly entertained and giggled like a little girl all evening.

Ok, he probably had a little to do with it, but from what I can tell, Gains started it.

Well I was able to get Parce unbanned before my mod account+regular fell victim to the banning. Hopefully that helps a little. :|

Hope the /b/tards had their lulz.

A question, do mods have a recent ban list or something of that sort?

Edit: For that matter, there's still one of the autoban gifs in the MP3 thread.

No, this old version of UBB is terrible in terms of moderation tools. Nothing to do but go back in recent threads and unban people manually.

I doubt there's any way to unban everyone, because for some stupid reason, people decided to log on and see what was going on last night. People who haven't posted here for fucking months.

I tested the fix described in Parce's sticky thread and was able to load that last page in the mp3 thread without getting v&. So it seems to work.

And for people who still aren't using Firefox, well, sucks to be you!

So type it exactly as is, even with the \/\/\/\s?

Yeah, it's a regex, though I figure a plain wildcard would've done. Also, I'll make one to match against the name change too.

What advantages does firefox have, over, say IE (Aside from the current obvious predicament), eh?

it doesn't suck

Honestly, I prefer it due to the fact that there are more ways to customize the browser and add additional protection.

Things like Adblock Plus and NoScript are beautiful.

However, I don't know enough about IE or Firefox for that matter, to specifically say why one is better than the other.

IE put in a "phishing filter" that, as far as I can tell, does jackall. Though the customizability sounds intriguing, I have to admit.

A trip to wikipedia is in order, methinks.

or you could just download it and try it for yourself. It's not a big install, and the chance is noticeable the minute you get the extensions.

I don't know about anyone else, but until Microsoft gets rid of the "Click to activate and use this control" overlay on all flash elements in MSIE, I am never, ever going to use IE.

All other benefits notwithstanding.

And since that overlay is part of a lawsuit settlement, it's not likely that it will ever go away.

I had been wondering about that, considering it seems rather.. .. pointless?

I made the switch to firefox, though. It's ... Pretty much the same, but at least I can pop in new addons whenever I feel like it. Which is a plus.

Get NoScript and get Adblock Plus.

Once you get those set up, you should start noticing some differences.

Just how much fun is it to.. break a dying community?

I really don't understand the mentality that finds it amusing. It's not like it took skill to do this, and it's not like there was any benefit for those who did it. It's like retarded people kicking others, just because the others can't retaliate because.. well, you don't beat up retards.

It's probably just out of boredom. When you have nothing to do, things like this start to sound entertaining.

More like nerd rage. There's a billion places he could harass out of "boredom", but only one that kicked him out.

And it was Waisz that was responsible for this, without him Gains would not have done anything.

It just comes with the territory, you can only work meaningless jobs and play guitar hero for so long before you want to take out your failings on others.

Then when anyone attacks you for being destructive, you can feel better by retorting with "Haha you care so much about a message board LOL!!"

It's mostly a way of temporarily increasing self-esteem I think.
