Collector's Edition's had a 10 day trail included with them. I let my ex-g/f use mine back in the day...

Maybe someone else has one left?

Last I saw *all* copies came with the 10-day free addiction thing.

Of course afterwards you have to buy the software at $50 anyway, which annoyed more than a few people.

Only if you know, you want to keep on playing. How dare they make you pay for the game.

it makes some sense, but why not have a 'reduced' version that they can order online and instantly activate their account with? Trim it to 35 for the media and key? Or give a kickback to the person who gave them the trial key in the form of a free month?

I understand why they want you to buy the software but there have been people out there offended that there wasn't some kind of benefit of using the 10day pass. Most people who want to try the game and know someone who plays will play on that person's account for a couple of hours to decide if the wanna shell out the $50.

They already gave you $5 of free play time. And a cheaper, downloadable version isn't available to anyone else. It would just be a kick in the ass to people that dropped the full $50.

Have you seen the price Blizzard charges for Broodwars? By now Starscraft with Broodwars should be like 10 buck bundled togather. Maybe they might offer a cheaper version of the basic client once they have like 2-3 Expansions out.

Did I say "download"? No. I'm talking about ordering what is basically a Media Kit for the game. You're not paying for box, distributors, middlemen, retail shelf space, etc, etc, etc. If Blizzard offered a direct order for people who have used a 10day key they'd make more people happy.

Personally it was worth the $65 I paid to get mine, shipping and all.

There's a possibility that I MIGHT have a 14-day free trial here.

The question is, whether or not you are worthy of such an item!

No. They would make some new players happy. Everyone that has bought the game from a store would not be happy, because they couldn't get the $35 direct from Bliz version. People that don't have a friend with a trial key would not be happy. I reiterate. Why should people that used a free trial get a better deal than those that didn't?

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

I think the problem ist more that if for every trial key one person downloaded the 2 gig client their bandwidth costs would skyrocket with a game as popular as WoW.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Easiest way to get it is probably grab a torrent for it. It shouldn't be considered Warez, considering you'll be buying the full game at the end of the trial anyways.

Hi. Alternatively, download the beta client and patch up from there.

Don't see how you could consider the client warez either, considering there's the patch from beta option. *shrugs*

I'm in the middle of AD alone. Kinda like it.

Even if we're on the shortbus of raid content, so to speak.

The RPPVP servers opened, and we lost half our fucking rogue core.

Me too! ^_^ Yeah, no one cares.

Both my brother and our old EQ guild, The Grubs, are on Durotar Horde side. I went to Durotar because apparently, the guild needed warriors; they had plenty, but none of them ever really played. So, I go to Durotar and level up to 28, get some awesome shit, and my bro asks... and they don't need any new members after all. Sux

I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do at this point. I want to get on Dark Iron/Alliance, but I don't have a whole lot of time to play at the moment. I have two research papers, due November 1 and 17, for the same damn class. However, once I get those out of the way, I'll have plenty of time. I could also get back on my ZJ/Horde warrior, who's level... 37? right now. He needs some better equipment, but some dungeon runs can fix that.

Thief: "I have come to a realisation. Dragons are not real in a general sense, but they may exist in certain specific cases."
Fighter: "Like how quantum mechanics describes how subatomic particles can spontaneously pop into existence at random!"
Thief: "No, that's stupid and stop making up words."

That's okay, because in the same time of killing Onyxia, we've seen TWO Vis'kag and three brutality blades. Total. (Brutality is from Garr, but yeah).

Go to Elune/Alliance. Tell Addy (Shedari) to give you 10 gold or so, which should cover your expenses for a good while. She owes me roughly 500g that I gave her for her kitty when I quit, so she shouldn't be able to say no to that. Now you can be a fruity elf.
