No offense intended, Ruvyen, but you're also a perma-n00b.
I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Plus, like Maradon said... I think I'd get left behind to have to grind levels by myself, and scraping together the copper to get my next set of skills (let alone better equipment)..

If you need better equipment at the low levels, just group with random people and head into a dungeon a few times. My Durotar warrior ran MC with random people four times, and came out with some really, really nice stuff (not just for the level, it's still really nice several levels later) and a few levels higher. Bonus points if you actually have the quests for the dungeon.

I need to figure out what the hell I'm going to do next.

I'm in a very fun guild, with some really cool people, but we're too small to do much endgame. My mage has hit the limit of what can be done with endgame PUGs, and to keep myself from losing interest I started a druid with the single specific goal of getting another race's mount (Meaning, starting from their starting point, doing EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE faction quest for them, and saving up a fuckton of Runecloth), but even then I know that sooner or later, the druid'll hit that same exact wall.

I can either try to expand my guild, or leave and join something else. I've been seriously considering a different server, but I'm just not sure what I want to do yet.

Yeah, I could never really get into the raiding scene. I play on a different server nowadays, when I play at all, primarily because WoW saps my creativity.

But I troll the boards so well!

My guild runs MC and kills rag and onyxia regularly, but because the leader is focusing on being a "non-elitist" and a more casual guild, we haven't worked in BWL yet and it doesn't look like that's going to happen very soon.

In addition, my new job has made it nearly impossible for me to attend the regularly scheduled raids.

So my warlock has essentially hit a brick wall of advancement. I made a warrior, but I have nobody to play with. I made a hunter on alliance, but still have nobody to play with, plus hunter isn't much my style.

Pickup groups for anything are an absolute nightmare at any level.

Good rule of thumb: you play Alliance if you take it up the ass, you play Horde if you put things up other peoples' asses.

I play on Shattered Hand(Warrior/Mage) and Bonechewer(Rogue), both Horde. I also play on Mannoroth(Paladin, don't laugh). All of which are PvP servers.

I'll not mention Zul'jin any more than necessary, since it's been gone over already.

As far as what class you should play as... here's my opinions!

Rogue = sneaky bastard who'll kick your ass in melee, but way way too popular
Warrior = not-so-sneaky bastard who won't kick your ass quite as hard, until you hit 60 and get epics, but MS warriors are far too common as well
Hunter = good solo class with pretty good ranged dps and a pet, and traps are just fun
Paladin = blessing, seal, autoattack, heal as necessary, bubble when you're even remotely threatened; this class is very much autopilot friendly, less room for strategy than most other classes, but still holds its own
Shaman = OMG NERF SHAMANZ... ahem... a good all around class with melee, healing, and spell damage capabilities... the 'Red Mage' of WoW
Priest = Gets great heals, and decent damage... a better solo class than you might expect, especially if you spec shadow tree
Druid = Gets heals almost as good as priest, and gets to shapeshift into a bear (warrior form) or cat (rogue form)... the next patch buffs up the non-healing talents a good bit, so Restoration is no longer 'the' tree for Druids (unless you've got anal guildmembers who insist on pigeonholing you)
Mage = Fragile as heck, but deals out the best AE damage in the game, with quite respectable ranged spell casting abilities, can also summon food/water and port groups around; itemization issues at level 60, due to warriors/rogues (and to a lesser extent paladins) getting weapons that start to out-dps mages because of the lack of +damage bonuses (or bonuses that are high enough) on high level gear
Warlock = Demon pets and lots of dots and debuffs; less burst damage than most other classes, with fewer escape options than a mage; currently considered by many to be the weakest class, but there's some scattered pockets of people who actually have fun with the class

Hopefully that helps!

You're incredibly naive if you think any Druid talent spec other than Restoration is valid in an end game situation.

There's a druid on my server that's standing around in full Shadowcraft armor. He's geared for feral mode. That's his default set.

However he also has a full set of Wildheart because he's expected to heal. From what he's told me he gets to use Feral about 3 out of every 20 raids.

I also play Horde Zul'Jin, though I've pretty much retired. I play(ed) primarily Jojah, occasionally used my bro's character Busche or helped my friend, Engelflammen, get some crap if he had to leave mid-instance. I know Vorago and several others should be familiar with those names.

Also, Maradon, if you're interested in rerolling Zul'Jin I'll send ya some money and run you through some instances.

I'm firmly rooted on Bloodhoof, too much so to move.

I'm a regional officer in Mercs Inc, and lots of my friends locally play that server.

I do find that there's not much in the way of twinking that can be done in WoW like people in EQ used to do. Level Requirements are nice.

Warriors are actually really difficult to play in the low levels (say, Compared to a warlock or hunter). No healing makes me cry.

Super fun to have an overpower and Heroic strike go off at the same time though. Hah!

First aid helps, but it does suck sometimes having to rely on dropped potions for in-combat healing.

Also, Cannibalize is fucking awesome. Haha. Heals as much as an equivalent level band-aid.
