This is a thread about standard cigarettes. No weed, cigaweed, nothing like that. Just tobacco. Filtered, unfiltered, whatever.

If yes, why? Peer pressure? Helps you sleep? Helps you stay awake? Do you regret it? Trying to quit? Want to quit? Don't care? Let's hear your say!

If no, why? Morals? Desire to keep your lungs safe? Allergic?

Try to give more information that just ;omg I haet smokers; and the like.

No. Because I don't find breathing in smoke very fun. And if I did find it fun, it would cost too much money to keep buying cigs.

For myself, no.

Firstly, I'm kind of allergic to cigarette smoke. It makes my eyes burn and itch, as well as headaches and lethargy just from being around it too long. Pool Halls are a pain.

Secondly, it's a morals thing. When I was young, I promised my mother I'd never smoke or drink alcohol. And, well, to this day, I keep my promises. If I make a promise, I keep it. I know it's a stupid reason for most people, but it's just the way I am. hehe

Other than that, I just don't want to smoke. I see no real benefit for it nor do I want to end up like far too many examples I've seen out there. Lung Cancer, Emphasema, etcetcetc. Ugh. Too many cons, no pros.

Grew up around a smoker. Hate the smell, hate the control they have over a person.

Have to admit, tried it once. Hurt, and made me queasy.

I hate the smell. I wish so many people didn't have to smoke on campus.

There's also the health issues, the addiction, and the price. But I can't even get past that smell.

There was a signature here... it's gone now.

I stopped smoking at the age of 13.

Because:
a. I realized it didn't make me cool or anything.

and

b. I could spend that money better elsewhere.

*Edit: I still smoke once per year. One fat whisky flavoured cigar (and a bottle of expensive champagne) each new year's eve. Must be the decadent part in me*

I have allergies that stop me from smoking. That's what I use as my excuse when people ask about it, because it's true, and allergies don't offend most people. I'm not fond of the smell, but after a few seconds around second-hand smoke, I can't smell it anyway (see above).

As for morals, yeah, those play a role too. My parents, and particulary my mother, would be quite displeased if I smoked or drank. I suppose I could smoke or drink and try to hide it (yeah, good luck), but since I don't enjoy either practice anyway, I just refrain.

I started smoking at about 14, because it was the "cool" thing to do. One every once in awhile can't hurt, right?

*makes faces and looks over at the ashtray on her desk*

Nope.. couldn't hurt at all.

I think at this point, it's more out of habit than anything else. I don't like it. I've quit in the past, and know I'll quit again... just hoping the next time I don't pick it up again.

Before everyone gets on the "Damn dirty smoker" kick... I don't smoke around people who don't like it. If I'm with a group, and I don't know thier views, I'll ask first. I have no problems going outside, or even waiting to light up in most cases. I try to be exceptionally considerate, because I know it's a disgusting habit.

Four frames per round, maybe six. But there are eight rounds in the GIF, for a total of (probably) 32 frames.

If someone wants to take the image apart to check, they'd get a more accurate number. Personally, I don't care, because I'm on high-speed both at work and at home.

I have asthma and most* of the smoke from cigarettes is a trigger for me - minor trigger, thank god, but trigger.

I'd rather not feel like I can't breathe a majority of the time, and considering how often I get respitory ailments, I don't want to push it.

Yes.

No I have no desire to quit, nor do I regret starting. I also happen to like the taste of them, much as some people like beer which I find nasty. It just happens to be something I like. I have no need for em, ie: Stress, relaxation, sleep, whatever. It's all personal preference, although those small benifits are enjoyed.

I also happen to be one of the most conciderate smokers I know, Bajah, among others can probably vouche for that... I don't even smoke in my own house. Because the smell of smoke doesn't appeal to very many people, plus I have kids of my own, and although I enjoy it, it's not something I will encourage, and will probably spend a great deal of time discouraging until they make thier own choices.

It is a nasty habit, and can have nasty side effects, but I'll continue for the same reason a big huge greasy 1/2 burger, lard covered goodies, and cady, I'm gonna live happy by my own choices, and live the life as I wish. I have a few bad habits, but I do tend to be quite concientious and take care of myself as well. Maybe it's just making up for the vices, but who cares.

I hate the smell of it, the taste of it, and it makes me cough and wheeze. OMG after a night out here in Vegas I have to shower to get the smoke smell out of my hair.. or if it's too late to shower I spray my head with Febreeze before I conk out! NO SMOKE ON MY PILLOW THANKS! hehe

I tried to smoke it as a teen (19) but I couldn't inhale the shit. I wanted to look the part of a rebellious artist. Had to just go with the drinking and angst part. Oh bummer! haha

Anyway! Haven't tried since.

I don't mind other people smoking. I have met few people like Fae that are considerate and blow the smoke the other way, or not smoke around you unless they ask first. Fae is sweet like that.

I am the type of person that will hang out with my smoking guests outside so they don't feel alone. Even though I can't stand the stuff, I don't want them to feel like a pariah. I just don't want that shit in my house! hehe
