Looks like they're laying the smack down on twinkage in general.

I'm wondering about this change. I think it might cause a massive wave of people quitting, when the 200k they just spent on their twink's stuff results in an AC 5 suit.

There is a way to trade NO DROP items.

However, making them NO RENT isn't even remotely funny, because it's such a horrible idea...

... That wouldn't suprise me if VI did.

The fact people are getting mad over the inability to twink with an item that is wayyy too powerful for that usage is disturbing

They moved the drop to common too

"Oh no, now only the people that can use it can get it! What a zany idea!"

I wonder if they will move onto Venemous Axe of the Velium Brood... maybe make it's proc proc on a level somewhat similiar to the level required to get it? But that would just be crazy

There is still A LOT of ecomonic value for the Fungi after this change.

It is arguably the best raiding / soloing BP for all offensive tanks ( RNG, MNK, ROG ) and SHM.... possibly more.

Edit: Oh yea... and mod rod happy Mages...

Makes sense to me.

Though, if everything starts to have level restrictions I'll be sort of sad, I do like to twink my new toons.

But, I wouldn't leave, I'd still twink and the armor would become more powerful as my toon did. Seems like they can still wear the items, just the armor, or whatever item, becomes more powerful along with the toon.

Sort of like the Dew Woven Sleeves I've seen on some merchants. Recommended level of 34/35 (can't recall right now), when I check the items with different level toons, the AC changes depending on the level of the toon.

Anyway, a good change IMNSHO.

It's not so much the really high level gear getting restrictions that bothers me. It's just that with most gear, by the time you can get it yourself, it's pretty much useless for your level. This sucks like a blond college chick on spring break

Hmmm... I wonder how far they'd go with this change. My sk is wearing a good deal of Sentient Armor, that was bought or given to me. I already get hammered as it is by blue and white cons.. can't imagine what happens if my ac drops even lower.

They cant... I was just thinking of the Mod Rod -> Canabalize -> Regen thing... And a mage in a guild I raid with that manages to die every few raids from over mod rod use ( I seriously believe it isnt intensional )

Ive never killed myself BY USING a mod rod...though once i modded down to 150 hp then an npc popped out of nowhere and bitchslapped me for 170ish

Actually.. the stuff they havent nerfed anything like that yet to my knowledge. Nerfing the Axe and the Tunic is a just move. And as I said earlier... the Tunic especially has TONS of use in the high game.

I didn't say it hadn't. The Axe and the Tunic nerfs were just moves indeed, but do you honestly believe they will stop there? Look at those arms linked in the thread. Level thirty fucking four for SIX AC, 2MANA AND 1HP! Bah. That's just retarded.

I like it on this particular item (fungi tunic), but don't like the idea if they make it on like all items. I think at this point, everyone has a high level char and the only thing keeping them playing is making twinks, not many would feel like starting over again.

I have a Fungi Tunic as well. I can stand toe to toe with Sebilis Frogs. With Regrowth and Fungal Regrowth stacking I just Turgurs, Spear of Fate, Bracer, and pet munching on frog legs. Reapply the spear dot as needed. But I'm 57. It won't affect me. I won't be handing it down to any of my alts.

Put the item on your cursor, type in h87fd, lick the monitor and then turn off the computer, the item will drop on the ground and can be picked up.

Ummm... Well, yeah, I see a lot of Post-50 people like it and stuff.. but, eh...

I'm worried, not being post-50 myself.

Yeah, it might be great for some people, but geezus, what about people like Jalal/Giantt who can sit and trade all day to earn up money to buy these sorts of things...?

What about level 32 people getting lucky and getting in a group and getting a level 35 item?

See what I mean? Some of this is good, but some of the limitations seem too extreme..

If you think a Level 50 is going to in in the group that's down in Seb offing the King, you're mistaken.

If you think that a cluster of mid 30's is going to go out and get a Venom Axe for someone, you're mistaken.

All the items that they're putting limits on, they're putting limits that are below the "normal level to obtain"... People who can wheel and deal to get things before their time aren't as screwed as you think. In some cases, yes they're getting shafted. But when I see a level 1 character with a weapon that procs enough damage to kill any mob level 8 and down, PLUS has regen on the level that they can't be killed by anything lower than level 9, I consider that over the top. Hell, giving an Iksar BP to one of my rogue twinks was sick! She PL'ed off of things in Befallen for days... Took here from Neriak straight to Befallen and didn't leave until she was in her mid teens. The only other "twink item" other than the BP was a Dragoon Dirk.. And that's a crap piercer. Fungi is worse... Higher AC and more than double the regen (Iksar BP is 6, Fungi is 15)...
