I'm beginning to think we may be in the middle of a deal drought...
The majority of restaurants in Boston with 3-4 stars will be selling some of their better dishes on the cheap. Think of it as a way for them to show off what they've got to customers.

2-course lunches for $15.10, 3-course lunches for $20.10 and 3-course dinners for $33.10
If you live in MA or are stopping by, you do not want to pass this up.
edit: Flemmings honors this. Go there. Fly in from Europe if you have to. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 03-16-2010 at 09:57 AM.
Grab a flight to Boston to take advantage of restaurant week this weekend.
I had free tickets to the industry only part of PAX east to give out as well, but I waited too long (the event is at capacity). :-/. I'll try to be better in the future. Still pissed at myself not jumping on those when I had the chance. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 03-24-2010 at 09:21 AM.
If you have a Wii you may want to ask for one yourself. it's free.

If anyone else is going to PAX East I'll be at the industry gathering tonight at Microsoft New England after all.

Sorry, the concert starts in a little over 3 hours.
edit: Tickets were all sold for $40 each (this thread was the only place I was offering them for free). Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 04-16-2010 at 04:23 PM.
Based on past history, that means a bag of crap will probably be up around 5ish est today or tomorrow but will sell out in about 40 seconds.

Oh wait this is one of those games I needed to buy instead of steal borrow as soon as I had steady income. As much as this is a silly cheap price I should at least give Sid something for all those hours.
How established (read: safe) is direct2drive.com?
The local grocery store opened at 7:00am and sold out of water at 7:30am. I assume it's just as bad all over.
Options:
- Boil your water. Since we are using the emergency backup supply, our main concern is bacterial contamination. This should alleviate the majority of issues. Just remember not to brush your teeth with non-boiled water and to sterilize your dishes using this guide after you use your dishwasher.
- Chances are you have a friend/co-worker that lives in NH or at least far enough away to be unaffected by the issue. It is also like that this person has access to clean water. Have them either fill up some jugs using a tap or buy some water at the local stores if there is any available.
- If you have no way to boil water and no friends available, the best bet I've seen so far is Amazon prime. While water is extremely cheap, it's also very heavy. Shipping is an issue, and amazon prime gives out free shipping.
Be careful, though. Even though you are paying extra money for free shipping the merchants still add the cost of shipping into the base price. Always check the price per ounce before purchasing water. $0.02 per ounce is good without shipping and $0.06 per ounce is acceptable with shipping
Edit:
Even though water is inconvenient/expensive right now, don't forget to hydrate. We are having a streak of hot weather out there and our body's don't perform well with dehydration.
edit2: They are now saying it was 64 million gallons lost, not 8 million. Ghost of Forums Past fucked around with this message on 05-02-2010 at 12:48 PM.
