Ok, then how about we reserve calling him a socialist OR a capitalist or whatever until he is actually in office. Right now he wants to raise taxes on the highest earners back to the Clinton rates. That is not especially extreme.

As far as approval ratings go, the approval rating of Congress is always abysmal, unlike that of the president. And since the Democrats gained a bunch of seats from incumbent Republicans, I think it is obvious who the public are laying the blame on (deservedly or not).
