need to move my buffs/debuffs somewhere else, just not sure where yet.
So does everyone have a paladin now or what? :V

It's been more than three years since release. Everybody still playing has an alt of every class that's at least level 20.
At least I know I do.

i played a paladin over a year ago

he, being an idiot, sold it off to someone else at a loss
and now i have to level one back up (horde side this time, at least)
Only classes I've gotten past 40 are rogue and shaman. Past 20, every class except warrior, hunter, and druid.
Though my new paladin will be getting to 40 soon-ish. Trying to get my Org rep up enough to get a wolf mount, and I'm finding that getting to Exalted on a Horde rep is much more difficult than getting to Exalted on an Alliance rep. My Draenei shaman was Exalted with Stormwind, Ironforge, and Darnassus before 40 with some work, and Exalted with Exodar not too long after that. My elf paladin is about 6k/21k Revered with Orgrimmar at level 33, and I'm almost done with Barrens quests.
That leaves Silverpine for spill-over, and after that I'll have to look into higher level areas for more Orgrimmar reputation.
Edit: Oh, and apparently running Windows Media Player in the background (nothing running on it), gives a performance boost to WoW. Apparently something about WMP allows WoW to take up as much of your computer's resources as it wants, instead of being limited to a certain percentage. Downside is that it can starve everything else you have running on your computer of the resources that they need to run properly. Willias fucked around with this message on 12-19-2007 at 10:27 PM.

it's not blank, it's space for KTM, group display and combat statsnice try though
I personally prefer to have things visible only when I need them and not have a space reserved for them where the game could be rendering

That'd imply it showing directly over my game space when these windows are actually needed, which is a huge no-no in my book.
If I wanted screens full of information and no graphics, I'd still be playing MUDs.

Are you on Windows Vista? Cause WMP on Vista has some arcane, undocumented functionality within the OS itself. Asha'man fucked around with this message on 12-20-2007 at 12:35 AM.

That particular fix is for XP as I understand it. 2.3 made particle effects require a whole lot more power to render despite not improving them at all. The framerate difference around a lot of effects (fire/smoke, Vashj third phase) was significant on my poor, poor Macbook's GMA950. Kegwen fucked around with this message on 12-20-2007 at 12:40 AM.

On XP, actually. And yeah, it has extra effects on Vista.
Apparently on XP it creates some hardware overlay that allows WoW to access as much memory as it wants, and for Vista, it creates the hardware overlay and triggers the Multimedia Class Scheduler Service, which allows WoW to access as much of a CPU as it possibly can.
I read about it on the Blizzard forums, scary enough, with people talking about it on the Europe forums here, on the US forums here, and then someone finally explained it all on post 242 on page 13, here.

I think I might reroll on Undermine. Sucks not having anyone to talk to/play with, and on Maiev it seems like most players haven't hit puberty yet. Also looks like most people don't want to touch the PvE game (which is a shame, as I haven't done any of the 70 dungeons). Willias fucked around with this message on 12-20-2007 at 08:56 PM.
