I did the same in Mandalia. Admittedly, I only used Ramza, so I didn't have to worry about leveling the others. I was disappointed when I couldn't level a Samurai successfully though; no weapons!

Yeah. Only once did I pin an enemy in with petrified enemies after dropping his speed to 1, then scream up to 50 and accumulate (gotta love the fast animation) my way to about level 8 Samurai.

Then I realized I was being a tard and just played the game.

"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

There comes a point when building a stupidly powerful character ceases to be new and exciting.

At least that's what people tell me.

Multiplayer Trip Report:

Melee allows you to earn JP for the class without getting any xp. Coworker and I Accumulated/Focused for about an hour mastering Black Mage.

The Rendesvous or however it is spelled are fuck annoying, I think you are supposed to be 99 for them.

Also Sean: There's a new set of battles where you play as Delita and Ovelia, controlling them. An entire new subplot about them even. Yes it is utterly awesome.

They are powerful enough that they don't really need anything else.

Abilities do between 110-250 varying on faith, whereas normal attacks only do about 90. That and it's a drain makes it pretty much laughable.

I really want to get to the endgame so I can get the equipment designed for them.

Also I think I should stop playing, coworker and I are making multiplayer fight teams, by mastering all the classes in wi-fi melee so we can level up as level 8 onion knights.

Squire, chemist, and knight mastered so far...

Now that I look at them again, they seem to be a straight port of FFX-2's Dark Knights.

Except those Dark Knights were immune to almost every status effect and absolutely destroyed anything they touched.

Do you have any friends with custom firmware PSPs? If so you can have them make a Pandora's Battery for you. Kicks it into service mode and you can downgrade any PSP.

Was even better with two Dark Knights and an Alchemist. The Alchemist could heal them both with potion skills without costing you any resources at all.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Why is everyone so hard for calculators? Granted, both of mine are still low level so they don't have all the algorithms, but I haven't had a single fight so far where I wouldn't have been better served with a normal mage. About all they seem to be good for is mass holy bombs.

EDIT: Not to mention they're slow as shit, too. Everyone else gets two turns to their one.

Dancer is pretty cool, but, again, I'm not sure if I prefer them over a more standard fighter.

Calculators can use nearly all White/Black/Time spells, all rolled into one. Master all Calculator mods, then set Math as a secondary ability to a Summoner.

Ultimate spellcaster.

As for Dancers, here's what I did:
Level 3 of them to all dances
Switch them to Ninja and get Two Swords
Switch them to Monk, equip Dancer as secondary and Two Swords as support.

Just go for 2-3 rounds of Slow Dance (1 if you have a Mime), then run around murdering before they have a chance to move again.

Now that I've gotten all the algorithms for calculators and have arithmeticks subbed on my two casters... I retract what I said about them not being awesome. They make the game almost too easy.

Also, Mustadio definitely gives up the leading role slot as engineer to one of the new optional characters... all the engineer skills plus item stealing skills? Fuck yes.

Balthier's plunders seem to have a higher chance of stealing too, and his barrage is just insanity.

Fuck the deep dungeon. I hate running around trying to find the right spot for the item pickup, since the FAQs seem to be correct about 2 out of 3 so far, only to get a damn phoenix down. Recovering bravery after this is gonna suck, too.

Getting the items in Deep Dungeon is still luck. Even if you have really low Brave, there's still that percent chance of not getting the good item.
