It didn't seem to play. Or I missed it somehow... I'm watching the "Jump Ons" again; I don't see why they'd play those over and over if the new episode wasn't coming on!

Edit: My girlfriend is obviously smarter than me, reminding me to check Nickelodeon rather than Nick Toons.

I am a failure.

Yes. So I see the slut in the bedroom actually was Azula. It seems like we're coming up on a hot Aang-Katara fuck scene pretty soon here.

I liked that episode.

Aang and Katara both deal with some pretty heavy shit. Things seem to be going well for Zuko, but oh wait, Azula is an even bigger bitch than we thought. The only grievance was a lack of Sokka and Iroh...kind of a cop out on the Earth King, too.

Steven Steve
posted 09-22-2007 12:09:27 AM
Well I suspect the Earth king is probably going to come back in some later episode with an epic return, even though he's a somewhat minor character.

Because none of the other cartoon shows picked it up because American-made cartoons in the Japanese style of artwork either fail miserably or have to be geared for very young children/people who act like young children.

Nick was the only one willing to take the gamble.

The show is quite expensive to produce. Most channels aren't going to spend that much cash on an animated show. It's actually less costly to license anime, which is more likely to bring in viewers.

What's wrong with Nick anyway?

I would say Spongebob. And their non-animated crap shows. But they also have Fairly Oddparents, so I guess that redeems some of it.

Basically all animated shows these days are pure shit derivatives of the non-action cartoons from the 80s/90s

The shows aren't crap, they just aren't tailored towards adults. I know that I used to really enjoy those "crap shows" when I was like 10 years old. I tried watching them again for shits and giggles, though, and they seemed empty.

It's because I grew up.

All Nick is doing is tailoring its programming to its audience.

Yes

I think to break their trope of "Azula knows everything" they need to have her try to guess something mischevious that Zuko is doing and fail

Yeah, it wasn't bad, all in all, but it failed to blow me away, which is what I've typically come to expect.

I sort of wanted them to not take the easy way out, to have the villagers drive out the gang, to have the factory be a vital part of the economy or something. It would have been better than the Captain Planet ending.

LeMiere
posted 10-06-2007 02:18:39 AM
I actually wanted them to leave the villagers to do the clean up, really. I was surprised they sacrificed their urgency for a task the villagers should have been responsible for themselves. They end up relying on the Boomerang Gang! How will they ever learn?

The whole point of the story this week was to show that they're NOT ready to be doing what they're doing, just for that reason. Of all of them, only Sokka seems to be willing to say "We've got bigger fish to fry!" and Katara is totally busting his balls.

If this keeps up, Book 4 is likely going to deal with a failure to take out the Fire Lord during the eclipse when he should have been weakest, because all of their efforts got screwed up by delays.

But Katara was pretty hot in the Painted Lady outfit.
