I need to make a deck around these two cards, it just seems so perfect. Can play Akroma for 3 colourless facedown then blink her faceup, even waiting till you have 5 mana to cast her and keep a blink on backup to avoid a removal. Opponent tries to burn it? Blink! End of turn? Blink! Here comes Akroma!. Plus even if you have several of her in hand can at least play them facedown and do SOMETHING with 'em. Ressurrect to use the white needed to blink to bring Akroma back if she dies... hmmm.
Seems like it could work, REAL easy on the mana requirements, a single white and colourless. Vorago fucked around with this message on 03-21-2007 at 04:07 AM.

A sleep deprived Malbi stammered:
its a good trick but not exactly something a whole deck can be built around considering theres only 2 red morphs in standard at the moment.
I look at it like Astral Slide, it only had one morph creature, you KNEW what it was, but the use of playing it facedown was just to get it out faster, not for any sort of surprise value

Maradon! stopped beating up furries long enough to write:
Doesn't protection from white mean you can't use momentary blink on the angel?
It doesn't have pro white or any of it's other abilities when it's morphed. It's just a 2/2 blank creature at that point.
One of the futureshifted cards from the upcoming MTG set.
Poison is making a comeback in the next block or two, scary

thats the gayest card design ive ever seen
Yeah, I am hoping it is just a one-shot deal, like the extra fancy borders the colour shifted cards in Planar Chaos has and isn't representitive of what they are going to make MTG cards look like in the future
Even for stuff like, "Oh look, I have two in my opening hand, turn 2 persecute for me!"
These 'pay later cards' are one of the themes of future sight. Pretty cool idea... but oh GOD does it ever increase the power of
One of the recent cards added to the spoiler...
Anyone else notice something odd about the card types listed? heh
Since he had one in his graveyard...
At the end of the game he reveals his hand... to show me two MORE calls inhand!
That has to be so annoying

3 mana for an 8/0 trample, so cool Vorago fucked around with this message on 04-13-2007 at 02:53 PM.

Malbi wrote, obviously thinking too hard:
not really unless you have some kind of persistent toughness increasing enchantment out he will die on being played to a state based effect
don't expect to see him being used...at all.
Considering the amount of decks that use the classic "weenies + Gaea's Anthem" I actually do expect to run into him at least sometimes. Cheap and huge and already fits into the theme
Plus I've seen enchantment kill like twice in months, haha

Malbi had this to say about Optimus Prime:
so he'll be a 9/1 trampler without haste and you have to have another card out for him to even live...yeah... you'd be better off running groundbreaker.

Malbi's unholy Backstreet Boys obsession manifested in:
good god looking at him more I can't beleive they wasted a rare slot on him.
Wizards specifically prints cards every set that people must work around and develop ways to use, for the players that enjoy doing things like that. They get rare slots because they are cards you do not want showing up a bunch of times in limited since they are effectively dead cards to a limited deck
