Wolverine issue #43, page six. The scenery and bike and everything look realistic. Proportional and everything.
Wolverine is wildly disproportionate and almost looks like the artist was drawing an anime version or something. You look at page five, however, and the full body shots of Wolvy look nice and proportional, realistic, all that good stuff. As does the first face shot on that page. The second face shot, however, goes back to looking really cartoony.
At all times, however, he has alot of detail and shadowing and crap working for him.

Naimah had this to say about Jimmy Carter:
So it was Marvels version of Crises of Infinite Earths pretty much?
More like an extended "what if", that had a lasting repercussion from the depowering and the memory of the event of the few who do remember it. The only thing it fixed was that mutants were too populous to be the fringe group that they rose to fame as.
...Anyway
House of M was, in many ways, rather like the "Age of Apocalypse" story in that it explored an alternate possible reality. Unlike AoA, it has had rather significant ongoing effects (keep in mind that knowledge of AoA's ever having existed was limited to the Xavier community and the Exiles), whereas most of the major players in the superhero world know about the House of M/M-Day/198 situation.
It was, in story terms, a convenient way for the writers to do something major with lasting effects which also restored elements of continuity (Mutants being a persecuted, vastly outnumbered minority), and set things up to up the ante. In that sense it was similar to the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Mechanics-wise, not so much.
And the only way you get commentary on 9/11 out of Civil War is if you're obsessed with 9/11 and see patterns everywhere. The issue regarding registration's been around since the 70's with the X-Men, except now it's not just the mutant community. And registration and the lack of a "secret" identity is the core issue of Civil War, not how it got kicked off.

I dunno. I really don't. I always got the feeling Cap generally holds back. You only see how hardcore he is occasionally. For instance, he decapitated the original Baron Blood back in the 70's using his shield. That's pretty hardcore.
There are certain lines he isn't willing to cross, though. Cap recently realized why he rides Spidey so much; Spidey reminds Cap of himself back in the day. Kinda gets shit on, has great potential, just needs the right catalyst to come out of it truly spectacular. Cap, despite the fight, wants to win hearts and minds. If the whole United States is out to get him, he knows it's a fight he can't win. Tactically speaking, Cap would eventually be drawn into a war of attrition. And if he starts fighting to the death with these guys who are his friends, how is he going to win them over? His only chance is to change their minds.
And don't you think for an instant that Peter doesn't realize it. Peter's not felt comfortable about his decision in registering and going public AT ALL. I think he overestimates his worth to Stark. Peter's greatest strength has always been his moral strength. He is, in many cases, the heart and soul of the Marvel universe. Whatever Peter ends up doing (I could see him going either way), he'll always be the guy who hesitates in the war because he sympathizes and empathizes with the other side, especially Cap.
But that doesn't mean that Cap could only ever win on a technicality. Don't underestimate the ability to out-think and manipulate an opponent. The Thing has always beaten the Hulk, DESPITE the fact that the Hulk out-powers the Thing in EVERY CONCEIVABLE PHYSICAL REALM because the Thing is capable of outsmarting the Hulk. He fights smart, takes every advantage against a superior foe, and makes the Hulk hurt for every inch the Hulk takes. I think Cap could do the same thing to Peter if he really wanted to. It's similar to a Batman/Superman fight. Yeah in straight up terms, Superman annihilates Batman. But why would it ever be straight up? Unless, of course, Cap wanted it to be. And then he'd be making a point. Cap is the Paladin of the Marvel Universe. You BELIEVE in Cap. Can't help it.

And why the FUCK is the Beast a blue cat? Secondary mutation my ass. He already had his secondary mutation; he brought it on himself by experimenting on himself (resulting in the "classic" blue fuzzy Beast).
Basically, the Beast got beat into a bloody pulp. A very bloody, very squishy pulp. They got him to a hospital, but his body just couldn't handle the strain, and he was dying. All they could do was slow down his death.
So, Sage pushed that mutation to a new level. This allowed him to heal, his body now able to take the strain it was under, but changed him into his current form.

Yea, I was more refering to fixing the story arc then anything else.

Isn't Outsmarting and manipulating an opponent what spiderman does, even idiots like the rhino(love his ultimate look) who have a much greater strength need to be taken out by more than just punches, spider strength or no. (edit: I'm envisioning spiderman web snatching caps shield mid flight like so many goblin grenades, and then doing a pose and saying some patriotic phrase)
I think this is the story arc where spiderman loses the new armor(post sides change), and its gets a robot mind, and becomes a killer, so its like venom and vision had a baby. MMM. Elvish Crack Piper fucked around with this message on 08-03-2006 at 11:25 PM.

Uh...no. Spidey's smart, but he's more a scientist than a battlefield tactician/strategist.

The cloaking/masking thing is a cheap cop-out to get him in the original red and blues occasionally, sure, but did you see that issue of The Thing?
They're hanging out after fighting Sandman (I think) at a construction site, and Ben goes, "Give you ten bucks to change back to the red and blues."
I think he's also used it to imitate the Scarlet Spider ( ) uniform once or twice for kicks. Sean fucked around with this message on 08-04-2006 at 05:14 PM.

Yeah by and large the new costume isn't being overplayed, which is the important thing. And he can choose not to use all the neat functions.

In Thunderbolts, they showed a huge display of a bunch of active villains and what I take to be Venom was there...I'm pretty sure you're right about Eddie though. I think the symbiote attached itself to Scorpion, actually.
