I also have yet to come in contact with a single attackable object be it PC or NPC outside of the tutorial Pirates way back. I fail to see how sitting at an asteroid for 10-15 minutes while your little lazer goes "bzzzzzzzt" at a rock harvesting minerals while you do absolutely nothing (Better, again, to just go afk)is in any way entertaining so not interested in that. Where do I have to go to actually do ANYTHING besides just hop from point to point watching the hyper drive animation?

That must've been changed. I'm playing for only one day, and I've killed more (NPC) pirates, transports and drones than I can count.

Tell me where.
Other than the Tutorial Deadzone spaces I can't find anything cept mining. And all my contacts send me on Courier or retrieval missions. Which are really really boring since its just a bunch of afk traveling.

The higher level agent missions (for Amarr at least) are mostly all destroy missions, or at least I hear that from my new corp. Level II and up.
I just need a freighter now to complete my level 1 agent mission. Damn thing needs 200+ cargo space.

What is the name of the character you are using? I have Kavol somethingorother, and you are never online! ;p

I only have Kavol Valarius right now. Might make another one later and get him to be a pure miner and keep Kavol for combat.
So I can mine like no tomorrow, but I have a hard time fighting through a wet paper bag after the missle nerf. Oh, and I can build things too, lots of things

One thing I forgot to mention: You can only train one skill per account at a time.

Missile nerf?
Yeah, remember you used to be able to one-shot a frigate with a torpedo? No more of that. Missiles in their base form do damage based on what you're shooting at. Light missiles do full damage against everything, heavies do full against cruisers and up, and only half on frigates.
On top of that, missiles now have a flight time; there's also a shitload of skills that will improve rate of fire, flight time, the explosion radius of missiles and the explosion speed, and so on.
It's not as much a nerf as a balancing between turret and missile damage output, as well as making sure you can't exactly be a god at both.
It works out though

I'm considereing to switch from hybrid turrets to something else, as having to reload is a little bit annoying. Also, wasting precious cargo-space for ammo, or running out of it isn't very appelaing either.
Amarr get laser mods, a big power grid, and heavier armour. I forget what the others get.
Lasers look very appealing to me.
The really huge ones are Dreadnaughts, and the slightly smaller ones are unarmed (but massive) freighters for the most hardcore of traders.

Titans. Sooo many big ships to choose from, why, it can send a chap dizzy.

Caldari are masters of missiles, I think. I don't mind that, but it's another type of ammo I have to carry around...Lasers look very appealing to me.
I think the racial bonuses are actually tied to the ship you fly, rather than the character, so a Gallente in a Caldari frigate would get the bonus to missile use as well, but don't quite me on that. I'm pretty sure it's possible to learn to fly other races' ships.

Mod is correct.
Also: Regarding missions - the agent you work for determines the missions you'll get. Internal Security and Command agents give out tons of combat work, everyone else gives out more mining/courier missions, I believe. I know I prefer to work for Internal Security or Command, because you hardly ever get the time consuming courier missions and almost always get fast, easy combat missions.

I know. I was talking about their ships.

Yup yup.
And yes, bonuses are tied to ship, and skills, not to your race specifically.
Breakdown of races and specialties:
Amarr : Lasers and armor out the yinyang.
Minmatarr : Artilery and a good chunk of armor.
Galentee : Drones and Hybrid Turrets/Blasters(same skill basic skill, but different specialised skills, blasters are fun, but not very good btw), and kind of equally split on armor and shields. Still better and easier to armor tank.
Caldari : FIRE ZE MISSILES, oh, and that hybrid turret too. Shield tanking specialists, which sucks, because shield tanking is poor compared to armor tanking.
Apoc == Best mining battle ship btw. 970m3/sec, with the ability to tank cruiser and battleship spawns for the win. Not a great rate compared to a mining barge, BUT, the ore you can get in an Apoc is MUCH better than what a lone miner in a barge can get. It's a stupid move to take 50mil worth of fragile mining equipment unescorted in >.5 sec space. You'll lose it, it's only a matter of time.
Pirating had been on a massive increase last I knew too. I stopped playing shortly after I got disgusted that someone bothered to kill my empty shuttle while I was AFK. I lost like 80mil worth of implants. My own fault, but still, it's annoying.

What.
Maybe if you're a mental midget blasters aren't very good. There's a reason any small to medium sized combat ship worth its salt has either blasters or AC's fitted.

Don't get me wrong, they can do some amazing close range damage. But, you have to get there first, which can be a trick since most good PvPers should be ready to fight off against small ships with blasters using webs. They also suck down cap like no other.

Why don't the Amarr have any big-busted women? They probably have the lowest player population

Again, blasters are only not very good if you're a mental midget.
1. Most small ships can close reasonable distances before larger ships can target them using a MWD.
2. Anyone packing blasters will also pack a Nos, unless they fall under the aforementioned category of "mental midget".
3. Webbers only work under 10km, and have an activation time of between 1.5 and 3 seconds. (I don't have the game open so I can't look.) This is more than enough time for a frigate to close the distance with MWD.
4. Even once webbed, a frigate will still be under the accuracy falloff of most medium and larger turrets, allowing them plenty of room to escape.
Contrast this with long range weapons, where the person with the bigger gun almost always wins. A frigate with lasers, rails, or artillery will always lose to a larger ship, almost completely independent of the larger ship's kit, whereas a frigate running AC's, Blasters, or (to a lesser extent) whatever the short range lasers are stands a decent chance.
I will concede that a solo frigate, once webbed, stands no chance of winning a fight. They can, however, turn it into a draw (unless they get scrammed too).
I find it humorous that a miner who doesn't even play the game anymore is trying to argue what the best weapons are.

The biggest ones are the Titans, basically moveable starbases. CCP have said the dreadnoughts are better in combat.
The other large ones are motherships and carriers.

I was thinking about buying one too.
Is it good, compared to a frigate? (Merlin for example)
What did you pay for it?
How did you arm it?
Is the 25% RoF penalty noticeable?
