They're usually a bit better about it than this.

You'd think they'd get it down after fucking it up so many times. Something never works right for them, and they always push the server uptime back later.

But you do have to give them credit. They're in Iceland, the servers are in London.

I can't download the patch.

EDIT: Nevermind, just pulled the one off the front page of the website. Hopefully that'll work.

It won't download for me either. I'm waiting for it to be added under the patches section of the EVE site.

That's actually an assault frigate. A Caldari Amarr hybrid. I think I want some staying power, with the option of making a quick exit.

Also, all in all, the Amarr have the best looking ships.

So, I am remaking my character, because having charisma as the second highest attribute sucks. =/

I'm not going to become a miner, I will do mostly missions and complexes, so combat and additional skills like engineering and mechanics mostly. Which setup would you recommend?

-------INT-CHA-PER-MEM-WP
Civire1: 7 -- 6 -- 9 -- 7 -- 10
Amarr1: 7 -- 3 -- 7 -- 8 -- 14
Amarr2: 9 -- 4 -- 7 -- 9 -- 10

Amarr1 is pretty decent for what you want to do.

If you could somehow bump the perception up a bit higher that'd be better. Perception and Will Power are the two main stats for combat skills. Granted the support skills (Engineering, Electronics) don't use them, it's still better to invest in something that you're going to be training ALOT of.

As far as I know Per 7 is as high as I can go at character creation with a starting value of only 4.

That might well be the case. I haven't tried to make a new character with balanced stats in a long time. Not like I can even try now, with the servers being what they are today.

And I have to say the stuff up on their website patting themselves on the back for only 2 hours of downtime more than scheduled is BS. I'm GMT -7, and I wasn't able to get on til 6pm. They originally said the servers would be up at 20 GMT, that's 1pm my time. So it took me 5 hours longer than they said before I could get on. 2 hours of unplanned extended down time my ass.

I'm undecided.

I favor a Caldari, but as I want to go for Amarr ships anyway...

If you can optimise one of the builds, I'd appreciate it greatly.

Minmatar/Sebiestor Rebel is really balanced at 7 int 6 cha 8 per 6 mem 7 will, I've heard it touted as the best well rounded you can get. Sure your stats won't be uber high but you'll have decent learn times on everything.

If you want to do combat you should probably invest into Pe / Wp since those are required for Combat and especially Starship Command type skills which you will be devoting most of your training time to, Pe / In / Wp if you want to help your learning and support skills. Look up that bit about character creation I posted in the other EVE thread if you haven't already.
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Yes, I have read that, Mod. Detis aren't in the game, and I don't want to make a Minmatar. It boils down to what is the best stat combination for a Caldari or an Amarr.

Hmmm...

I'd like someone to do a Photoshopped pic for me as a desktop pic...

A pic of an Amarrian ship (preferably a Dreadnaught, but any ship will do)... or better yet, a whole squadron of them taking on... a giant block of Christmas Fruitcake.

I got my account working again so I should be back in the game soon.

Good thing I still had 6 days left on my training before my account went inactive for 2-4 days. *grin* Inactive accounts do still train, by the way, you just can't log in to select another.

Well, I caved in and grabbed a free trial. How long until the servers go up? I have no idea whatsoever when 8PM GMT is.

Double-click your system clock in your taskbar. Click the Time Zone tab. Note what position your time zone is relative to GMT. I live in the Central Time Zone. Therefore my entry is as follows: (GMT -6:00)Central Time(US & Canada).

This means that I am behind GMT by six hours. This means that 8:00GMT would equate to 2:00Cen.

Just a quick protip!

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?
