After much installing, I finally managed to log in with my character. Once....during which time I accidentally ran out into a lake, couldn't figure out how to swim up, drowned, and then crashed. Then almost every time I try to play again, I go to the "server list", click play....it says "scanning world servers", and then I click play again and again and again, until it says "submitting character", and then it usually crashes, but if not, it takes me to my character list, where I can choose my character, and THEN it crashes.
I'm sure it'll be worth it though, EQ was awesome, but...yeah, the server seems to resent me for some reason.

Server had a little hiccup yesterday, you might have had bad timing. Try again today.

Still not getting passed the charecter creation. I downloaded the default UI and unzipped it (both are in my everquest folder). It still gives me the same message-- that my client has crashed.

Er, it needs to go to /uifiles/
I moved them into the uifiles folder, and it is still crashing on the charecter creation.
It sounds stupidly simple, but I was having similar problems. Turns out, I'd forgotten to install the hotfix. I repatched EQLive, hotfixed, installed the maps, and patched WR, and it worked.

I don't know how, but you HAVE fucked up applying the fix files. Do this. Grab WRfix.zip. Unzip it to c:\fix or something. C&P the "help" folder from there into /Everquest/. C&P the "default" folder from there into Everquest/uifiles.

That seems to be a new bug that alot of servers are having. Has happened to me on Winter's Roar, Scorpious2k and KMRA. Everyone I have talked to has no idea how to fix it either.

No, just one char at a time. Alot of people are finding that unequiping certain items removes the zoning bug, others find that turning off their firewall fixes it. I havent found a fix that works for me yet.
Now if only I could get a good weapon that isn't a two-handed hammer...

Have you improved EQ's solo game on WR? If I could log on for just a few hours at a time and actually be able to accomplish things, then I might just give it a try.
Would be nice to see how EQ looks now that I have a machine that can kick its ass. I've never been able to play EQ before at full settings.

It seems to me that most classes can solo more, but even if you can't, you can dual-client. Just make another account. So long as you aren't playing more than two characters at the same time, it's okay.

Solo classes can solo very well. Gimpy-solo classes can solo decently.
Group-required classes can solo, but it won't be as good as DCing the two or grouping.
It's not something people hear about.

Ah glad to see it is not just me who crashed.
Where/what level are you guys? I need to find some people to group with. I can solo single dark-blues, but not having bandages (and not having money for bandages ) is really slowing me down. The only reason I'm not DCing a cleric with my warrior is because, honestly, it can be a little difficult. Especially if you're fighting wandering mobs in open areas.
