Now, I must first say that many of the issues from the last time this was advertized have been fixed. It's surprising, but the game's relatively bug free.
And not only that, but the Server is actually populated now. I'd be lying if I said 6 months ago it was normal to have 150+ players on at any given time. Here's a handy-dandy link to a graph reflecting these facts, WR Player Graph! The breaks in the graph are where patches occured, but that's not important. Look at the Current (202) thing.
Instead of trying to remember all the various features, I'm snagging them from the WR website. They're accurate anyways.
quote:
- By far, the largest playerbase on the EQemu network, with thousands of active accounts.
- Hardware and bandwidth to support future growth of players.
- Fully customized content, forget what you think you know about the world of Everquest and experience thousands of new monsters and items, new skills, and a new world to explore.
- A complete background story.
- The storyline directly applies to the geography of the world.
- Zones are connected differently than EQLive. Different creatures and level ranges frequently populate these zones in order to conform to the storyline.
- Trade skills.
- An abudance of unique quests for all ranges of levels and classes of characters.
- Currently sporting well over 150 players online at prime hours, with the number growing steadily.
- Monsters feature greater spell casting intelligence, seeing is believing.
- Over 95 new revamped zones, ranging from dungeons to large outdoor landscapes to extremely challenging raid areas. Zones can feature everything you'd expect from a classic EQLive zone.
- Full guild support.
- A huge variety of bosses and raid encounters, each featuring a unique and hand-made loot table.
- Level up to 65 currently supported.
- Fully working AA's, including new custom AA skills.
- Faster experience gain compared to EQLive. Not necessarily easier, but faster.
- Melee disciplines have been revamped into new custom fighting styles. See the forums for further details.
- New features and content is introduced regularly.
- Last but not least, it's FREE. While Winter's Roar is open for individual and monthly donations, it has no required monthly fee, trying it out will cost you absolutely nothing.
Tons of quests are being added all the time, and as I'm both a wacky cool GM, a level 65 player, I can assure you that new stuff is being added all the time. Oh, and GM's actually listen to you, petitions are answered quickly (Not many bugs so we all kind of race to the petitions to answer them in time)
Also, Events occur often and all that stuff.
Anyways, I've been babbling for awhile. Check it out, and who knows, you may find an incredibly fun experience.
Or you may find out you hate Everquest forever blah blah blah and delete it. Liam fucked around with this message on 05-18-2005 at 08:19 PM.
Edit: And yes, I was high level and my character whupped ass. He was even raid leader of his guild. I still made sure I went back to random zones to screw around and help people. Vallo fucked around with this message on 05-18-2005 at 08:50 PM.

If the latter, I might give it a shot.

I don't remember the error number, but there was a stickied post on it on the forum.

i'm playing on WR, message me as Bidoc or Jojo if you have any questions. This community is so much nicer than any live server! And the people who run it actually care about input from all level ranges. Although they can be liberal with the ban stick for people who are acting stupid. but who really wants to play with stupid people?
If you're referring to the recent bout of spammers, they're trolling us and are avoiding our bans, so yeah, we'll reban them continuously until they give up.
edit: Here's a link to the zone connection map + level ranges!

Everquest.exe
So I downloaded this, clicked run, and it started copying shit to my desktop.
It looks like it intends to copy the entirety of EQ to my desktop.
Is there some way to make it copy somewhere else?
Nevermind, it appears that while I told it to copy to one folder, it also copied to my desktop and when I told it to run, it ran from the desktop.
I fixeded it! Fizodeth fucked around with this message on 05-19-2005 at 01:56 AM.
Anyways, since it doesn't look like the Quest Journal works on WR, anyone know of a mod that either 1) Allows me to add things manually to the journal. or 2) allows me to save and sort through messages through an in-game notepad thingy?

I deleted EQ in frustration. I will DL and try again.

Save the exe in a folder you wish to run EQ from, then run it.

An account that is relatively new, I made it about a month ago.
I never got it to work the first time, and now I'm trying it again. Fizodeth fucked around with this message on 05-19-2005 at 06:25 PM.

I got it but all I had was the old models. DEspite a hour of trying to figure it out and makeing sure 10x they were selected and enabled it refused to use them...
Does it give you an error message about your system not being powerful enough to use all those Luclin models?
Two things:
1. Since I don't know your system specs, make sure your system is powerful enough. Lots of RAM and a good video card, especially a video card with a lot of Video RAM. I know I have 1GB RAM and an ATi RADEON 9600 w/ 256MB Video RAM, and I still get slight slowdown in some spots.
2. There's a bug. I'm not sure if it's a bug with all of EQ, or just from the WR stuffs, but when you're trying to activate the Luclin models, don't click the "Next" button. It's bugged, and will always tell you your system can only support, like, 2 models. You'll need to press Enter instead.
I just uninstalled a 2nd time reinstalled and now im having the EQ patcher do a complete file check.
My system Is a Sony VGC-RA820G it has a 1 gig of memory and a 3.4 p4 processor
the video card is a X300 ... should be ok. when im done patching maybe I can figure it out.
Thanks
