Bunch of crap.

Whatever you say, Sparky. I'm supposing you're Maho's "Friend that will back him up"

First off, newbie boy, lets set some shit right. You do not have a japanese name, so I am going to assume you are just another white boy japanophile who thinks he knows his shit. Now, you can spout off names, and japanese words, and try to convince me that I'm wrong, and thats fine. I am still likely to trust in what I have studied myself, rather than the words of somebody who is likly nothing more than an anime junky with too much money, and a video correspondance course in how to use a sword.

The reason I mentioned the name Masamune, was not in referance to the artifacts made by the original master himself, but simply that you could have one made, today, by such a famous name. And that such a thing would be overly costly, and would have trouble in legally transferring from one country to the next. However, it would be a proper weapon, and not the "local mall knife shop junk" that is all most people will ever need in life.

Anyway, lets pretend you are more than the average weenie who likes pocky.

Lets pretend you did more than just read the Book of Five Rings, and pretend to understand it. Lets assume for a bit, that you have actual working knowledge of.. say.. metallurgy, chemistry, smithing, ergonomics, weaponry, anatomy, geometry, and physics, to understand every aspect of the sword. (We will, however, forget that you know 5 different words for every part of the sword, because doing that shit just makes you look like a penis.)

Well.. if you knew all that.. you would know that Beryllium/Zinc is much, much lighter in weight than Steel. In a weapon, this throws off balance and flow. Sure, it looks like the real thing, but it does not ACT like the real thing. This makes practicing with it pointless, unless you are teaching a child the motions, or trying to show off for judges, or your friends in your back yard.

Well, that is, of course, unless all you ever intend to use it for, is to show a child the motions, or show off for your friends in the back yard. The only modern reason for this art, is discipline. Which by coming here, you show your lack of. You came here to seek a confrontation, which your "Chosen" art form, is meant to avoid.

Your Zen is weak, young asshopper.

WTF is this shit? Maho go pick random guys from some sword forum?

I do enjoy how you decided to come invade our little community, and try to "help" things out. I especially like how you thoughtfully attempted to prove both myself, and Maho wrong.

One little problem.

You lecture as a professor would, but we did not ask for such a thing. And, we dont know you from Adam, so your overbearing forceful application of expertise, and such, just makes you look like a condescending asshole.

I also assume that you and Mr. Ian Benjamin who posted ahead fo you, only created your accounts here, so you could post in this one thread, then go back to whatever hentai/karate/autofellatio forums you came from.

If you read the rules, when you made these accounts, you might have noticed one about Throw away accounts. Which is what you've done. How very Japanese of you to come into somebody elses house, and piss on the floor.

Well, strangely enough, I do understand that an iaito is lighter. I own two of them. I also owned two nihonto, and I have some gaijinto in the mail for tameshigiri. So I do know the difference in weight. Suburi practice (swinging drills) with suburito help strengthen you a lot for that. The iaito is lighter so you avoid stress syndromes from developing after several hours of practice. I've been practicing for a while now, conversely I have yet to hear you really explain your credentials, so I won't take your insults seriously. You don't have to be Japanese to understand/learn the arts. I am in fact a convert to zen buddhism, so I find your statements humorously ironic. I sincerely hope you learn to understand the arts and grow up to be a more productive person. Meanwhile my offer stands to provide you with the information of my teacher, the inheritor, the organization, and any documentation of my training as you seem to doubt them. It's not surprising that one would have doubt, quite the contrary, I understand completely, seeing as I doubt you equally. However, I'd rather you keep this civil. I'm no sensei, but I do understand enough to know you are misleading the good folks on this forum in regards to the arts. Nothing you demonstrate in your behavior is characteristic of a good man, let alone an honorable practioner of traditions. Best of luck reaching satori.

Edit: I might be pursuaded to stay for the pr0nz threads if I wasn't greeted in such a hostile fashion, but my birthday is coming up in September so maybe you can hook me up with that porno I seem to love so much. MMMMMM... I do loves me some good pr0nz. I have actually read some things on his forum before, so I think it's a bit rash of you to start judging why my first post was made thusly after lurking.

So far, this situation is sorta amusing.

I wouldn't say so. All Tal has managed to do is make unfounded arguements and then try to undermine credibility when he lost.

Not good enough to come into a forum where nobody knows you and insult people? You have to turn around and show him how to be an ass? Do not claim to be something your not. Nobody is impressed. Even if an iota of what you claim is true, it doesn't matter. Who made you god of swords? I do not buy into your fu.

Another steaming loaf.

Ok.. lets see..

1. I'm not trying to be that.
2. I'm happy being a barbaric white boy.
3. In order to be misleading these nice people, I would first have to be trying to lead them somewhere. Hell, my original post in this thread, was telling Otakupenguin that he had no use for a real blade, and that it would likely be out of his means to obtain one anyway. So, in essence, I was attempting to help him to NOT be mislead.
4. I know, and am willing to admit that I do not know all there is about the sword.
5. Thats your fucking opinion. I have my own.
6. Who said I was studying Iaido? Just because I know about it, doesnt mean I'm a student of it.
7. Lighter weight weapons, even for use in practice, are actually more damaging, and stressful on your joints, and muscles, than a fully weighted blade is. Hard to believe, but after 10 years of combat experience, I know it personally, and physically, to be a fact.
8. Fuck you Zair.
9. I forget... gonna go do some paperwork now.

Oh yeah..

I am a student of history. More specifically, I am a student of the means of death throughout history. Weapons, Poisons, Execution, and all the tools of the trade. From this, I have gained knowledge in a great many things. Those would be the subjects I listed in my previous posts. Metallurgy, Anatomy, Geometry, Physics, Chemistry.. All that good shit. Along with studying the weapons of war, I have also studied the use of those weapons, in both the intended means, and the practical means. I am not a student, dedicated to a single art, so you may have me beat in that specific area..

But, odds are, I know more about that sword in your hands than you do. And, I am fairly confidant, that I could put it to use better than you could. You may have spent ten years learning how to use it, but I've spent ten years using it.

And of course, theres the "Put up or shut up" bit. I would be more than willing to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak. With boken, or shinai, of course. (Unless either of you two are undead, in which case, I'll need a good katana, and a plane ticket.)

Now then... My credentials don't involve a lot of Japanese names, or links to websites. But then.. why do I need them?
