The 5% volume of alchohol is not going to impare most people (unless they have some chemical issues much as you added for your pot user ), and even if one hit off a joint does not elevate you to a high state it still impares you more because it is already taking effect. Not to mention it takes much longer to drink a beer than take a hit, and therefor take subsequent hits.
If for no more than the fact the alchohol has to go through your body and be initially broken down long after the effects of an inhaled quickly absorbed substance is. The beer drinker will be sober longer.

Assuming this, are you saying it would take longer for that high to go away, then 8 beer? Sorry, but no. It takes me a full night to sleep off alcohol. A high wears off really fast, comparatively speaking.
The psychoactive part doesn't particularly matter much.. I mean.. Unless you're in a debate for your life, and your high and you decide to support a different opinion and get killed. I guess. People who are drunk and are inclined to drive, WILL drive. A high person has a better chance not causing damage driving then a drunk anyways.

Although the feelings of high have gone away the imparements remain longer from THC than they do from those of alchohol. Alchohol is broken down MUCH faster by the human body that THC. Just losing the high feeling does not count, you will remain impared.

While I'm not going through the rest of leviticus at this time, you get my point. Why is this one sentence looked at, when leviticus is -full- of things we don't do today? Plus, this is the -old- testament. In the new testament, it's a whole new ball game.
So please. Explain NOW why gays are an abomination?
Also, it might be good to add that Levitican Law was wiped away by Jesus's sacrifice. (there's something in the bit about his crucifixion that has to do with the old laws being nailed to the cross with him, and extinguished... or something appropriately metaphorical-sounding...
