Tilts his head, so his muzzle almost touches her neck...sniffs softly, an action that no doubt makes her feel very vulnerable. If his nose is this close, then so is his muzzle, and that means the Teeth are close...On the other hand he's sniffing at her neck...showing a great deal of interest in her...He growls, not as loudly as before, "You have the Scent."

Looms behind her...and is hard to ignore. In a drafty library, one gets used to a certain cool temperature even through one's clothing. A large furred canine-man is warm, even if his overall presence, and chaotic demeanor seems chilling. And Chuckles is an expert loomer, taking what he desires (sniffs of her scent) without actually in any physical way disrupting her work

Calena's head whips around and she just gapes at him, red as a beet. "You-you-I-you-...how dare you suggest things like that! Just when I was starting to think you might possibly be a halfway decent being, you go and make such a statement!" She gets to her feet and points toward the door "Out! Crossing his arms, Chuckles presents the very image of the proverbial Immovable Object. Someone who doesn't respond to Calena's orders, someone who is rude and obnoxious, and who knows just enough about what she does to seem useful but then he says something obnoxious...and she can't get rid of him! How...how IRRITATING!

Smirking...tilts his head forward and flicks his tongue across her lips...a hyena kiss, it would seem. AARGH! JUST MAKES IT WORSE!

She points down, to her only escape route, meaning she'd have to slip down between his calves. She frowns. "I don't even like you, and here you are...well, I suppose you call it kissing. And I do wish you would stop."

Calena starts to do exactly that, but falters. He isn't really doing anything but be an annoyance, she reasons. And it is rather...nice, to have a true kindred soul for once. Not someone humoring the queer inventor, or acting like she doesn't exist. Someone that actually finds what she says interesting, from his comments about her energy containment device. And someone that recognizes she's not just some soulless golem that creates, but a real person, and a female, with female feelings and wants. Cal bites her lip and looks away. "I will not tell you to go away. But I will ask you again to stop that."

So she wouldn't find it entirely surprising when he licks her lips again...but then he does draw back. Just enough that she could return to her work. He growls, "Arrogance is not becoming. Chuckles' eyes flare at her outburst, and he emits a fresh blood-chilling GRRrrrrrrowlll.... as a warning, before saying in his gravelly, growling tone, "And how well do I know you, Calena? Not ALL inventors and scientists are honorable."

His ferocity, his tone, suggest he speaks as someone who knows. Not all wizards, one might admit, are noble. Not all inventors are honest or give credit where it's due. Some are fiends in their own right. Such is the power of the sound Chuckles produces that it forces one to come up with reasons to explain away things...or perhaps it's the power of Calena's nascent attraction. Either way the thoughts are with her...as is the certainty that he brooks no outbursts of that sort. Indignation is one thing, but her tone was, perhaps, not the best chosen.
