A grin spread across Taavi's face as he entered the ambassador's office. The aging elf seated at an oak desk looked up when he walked into the room.
"Taavi! You have finally come back! It has been too long." The elf stood up smiled. Taavi bowed and walked forward.
"It sure has, I make it roughly five months now." Taavi replied, glancing around the office.
"That sounds right, how are things going for you?" The elf moved away from the desk, heading towards a cabinet that contained a wide variety of drinks.
"Unchanged is the appropriate word, I just ran into one of Circle of the Seven's messengers before coming here. Seems Iyanamar's up to his old tricks again." Taavi spotted a picture on the wall of an elven forest and moved closer to admire it.
"Iyan? The enchanter? What a shame, I thought he might retire some day." The ambassador finished preparing the drinks and handed one to Taavi.
"Thanks, and unfortunately he's not the type to retire."
"Yes...well, anyway what can I do for you?" The elf took a sip of his drink and moved back to the desk.
"I have some more letters to be cycled through the usual channels then sent back to me for delivery, mostly disinformation but also a couple of reports." Taavi said, setting his drink on the desk and pulling a stack of a dozen or so letters from his hip pouch and then placing them on the desk.
"I also have a favor to ask." He said, causing the ambassador to frown.
"I need access to the Castle Library, the building they jokinly refer to as a Public Library in the city doesn't have the resources I need." Taavi held his breath, knowing he was asking a lot of the ambassador.
"That is no problem, I can get into the Castle with ease as can anyone traveling with me," The ambassador's smile grew into a grin, "do you still carry your set of false papers with you?"
The ambassador wasn't joking when he said he could get in with ease. After simply showing his Ambassador's papers, and Taavi's false identification they were inside the Castle walls. The guards were a little unsure of what to do about Taavi's weapons, but his papers did say he was an Ambassador's bodyguard so they let him enter with the sword and bow. After finding a quiet spot in the halls of the Castle, the Ambassador stopped to pull something out of the bag he was carrying. [ 03-20-2002: Message edited by: Daniel Gow ]
"We can stay here as long as you need, I have some diplomatic duties to take care of anyway so I shall attend to those. Carry this with you at all times, just incase the guards want to know why you're here." The Ambassador handed him a necklace with the Elven Diplomatic Services seal on it.
"Thanks, this could come in handy." Taavi replied, winking at the ambassador before moving off down the hall.
IC: Azymyth had followed after Calena and had quietly watched the exchange between her and Chuckles. It had been along time since he'd seen an Anthral quite that large and wasn't about to do anything hasty that might get himself hurt. Plus... plus with the way the two were going on with each other, he wasn't exactly sure what to think of the situation.
After Calena pushed past him, he stayed a moment to keep an eye on the hyena-man until he was out of sight then headed back towards the library where he was sure the young lady had retreated to, due the the loud slam he heard after she had gone.
Finding the door open, he frowned and entered slowly. The first thing that caught his eye was Calena with the laughing boy hanging upside down behind her.
Coughing politely, Azy ventured, "Um... Calena? I think you might want to tell your boyfriend to stop doing that..."

"You!" she exclaims, jumping up from her seat, knocking it to the floor. "Haven't you bothered me enough, you-you-you animal? Go away!"

I swear, all the oddities are just coming out of the woodwork tonight... uh... no offence Miss Calena.
She peers at Chuckles as his growl fades and echos it quietly
And who might -you- be, now that I've gotten the chance to ask?
"What do you want, er, Chuckles? This is a quiet area so you'd better behave if you're one of the clean up crew. I know some of you Anthrals are more feral than others, but that doesn't mean you can me all loud right now." Yeah, it was long winded. Yeah, it was probably really corny, but then again, what -do- you say to a guy that has arms as thick as your waist hovering over your friend?
Brings his hand (paw?) up to his mouth and sticks the tool he purloined from Calena in place between his teeth, and unhooks his legs from their hold, flipping in midair to land on all fours before landing...then rises for the first time onto his hind legs, looming, more or less putting himself next to Calena, facing towards Azymyth

I wonder if they're missing me back in the field...
