as of 24hrs ago the toal acreage burned countywide was 206,000. Seeing as it's been going at about 100,000 acres a day it's probably at LEAST well over a quarter million acres burned.

Channel 10 news (ABC affiliate) has been doing a fundraiser to help the red cross get money, so far over a million has been raised. Some of note: Junior Seau: $20,000; SAIC: $50,000; Two small girls: $34 from selling cookies.

Land burnt: approx the size of Rhode Island and a half. about 475,000 acres.

Cuyumaca, a small town, has been completly lost, and the fire is headding towards Julian. Their being evaced to Borrego.

Paradise Fire: 15% containment, full expected by 1st
Otay Fire: 90% contained, full by Thursday, out by the 1st
Ceder Fire: 0% containment, partial(40-50%) by the 1st, full hopefully by the 5th.

The smoke is causing many health problems.

Current Damage Estimate:
Homes: 1.3 Billion
Other: 100-500 million

City has now provided:
Free Building permits to those in burnt areas.

Power is out to over 30,000 people. Some power has been restored (appx. 10k).
School is out till Thursday for most of the county.

My Dad's Roomate growing up, and my Baseball coach for 10 years had his house in Cuyamaca, 90% of all structures in that town are now gone. Julian looks like it faces the same fate

We were finally allowed back into our neighborhood in Tierrasanta, seeing how close it actually got is a real eye opener.

I don't wish this on anyone, seeing grown people totaly break down and lose control of their emotions is not something I recommend seeing en mass.

If animals weren't supposed to be eaten, then why are they made out of meat ??

Julian and Quyamaca were also the only two "pretty" parts of the county aside from the coast.

Everything else is desert and concrete.
