Anyways, in multiplayer, fighting as beasts can be A HELL OF A LOT HARDER than fighting as humans. Why? Humans have better range, while beasts kick ass in melee. Humans get rapid fire weapons. Beasts get life drain attacks.
Humans can be insanely hard to kill as a beast, mainly because people are smart enough to stay the hell away from you. Now, when YOU DO get in range, you'll usually go over humans like they are speed bumps, UNLESS THEY ARE A MORE POWERFUL UNIT THAN YOU. Now, beasts do get the neatest siege unit in the game, the Juggernaut (A huge fricken horned beast that beats the crap out of shit with a very large tree.) which has the most health out of anything in the game, and also happens to do the most damage in the game. It's downfall? It's slow as hell, and its melee. It's a siege unit that is melee, and its slow as hell, and it gets shot down easily unless you have little guys backing your ass up.
Now, how do beasts get in melee range with the enemy? They have a far more nifty right click ability than humans do, a very powerful fast leap forward, which is used to close the gap between you, and what you are having for lunch later that day. It's pretty damn effective, until you run out of stamina, which then you get to eat lead. And trust me, that ability eats stamina.
Now, about buying the game? Not yet in my opinion. I think it's a good game, but I don't think that there is enough in the game yet to make you want to go out and put $50 on the game right now. For now, play the demo, and only get the game if it happens to go on sale, there ARE still some balance problems with beasts, as they were added really late in the development of the game, and these problems tend to make them worse than they should be IMO. But, if you REALLY like the game, buy it, there is a big need of some intelligent commanders.

Katrinity had this to say about Reading Rainbow:
I'd like to see a Star Wars game like that...The Admiral or Fleet Commander directs which sectors he wants specific ships to fight from and watches over/directs the whole battle, and ship captains(in cruisers/frigates) and fighter pilots actually do the down-in-the-dirt fighting.
I think this comes close to what you where discribing:
Allegiance It was a good game till Microsoft ran it in to the ground.

Look for the string "<something> processor to AGP controller"
No such string exists in my device manager.
Also, they give you the Intel driver website. But which drivers do I download? I have a 845 series. [ 10-10-2003: Message edited by: JooJooFlop ]
I absolutely HATE IT when they refuse to research medkits. All I need is the savage class, and three medkits, and I can usually end the game with upwards of 70 kills using only my sword

I use AMD, honestly I dunno.
But the Intel Site should say which drivers update which series, or at least the AMD site did. If thats any help.
And updating my AMD Board SERIOUSLY improved gameplay... Like IMENSELY, no stutter at all, and my system is pretty old as it is, I only have a GeForce 2.
It said doing this would imrpove stability and play on other games that are card intensive as well, checked it out from Gunbound to Enemy Territory, and a couple others... MUCH improved. I wish I knew how to give more information than that, cause it really is beneficial. [ 10-10-2003: Message edited by: Faelynn LeAndris ]

I was in the beta for that game... I loved it

I'm afraid to play on a public game cause I dunno wtf I am doing... I want an EC game... I have a decently stable connection. I'm going to try and figure out how to set one up, and I will post IP and all that here if anyone is interested... So if there is interest lemme know.

I'm interested. I guess I should install it now. Just kinda ignored the file all day...
I'm gonna bring up a server in an hour or so. Some people are DLing it right now.
So probably between 8 or 8:30 Central Time, and hope it works.

I'm still not sure though, on how to put a password on a server.
As far as I saw you couldn't...
But I've had a hosted game up for over and hour without any interferance from the outside. Plus I could always just kick any Non-ECer.
Kinda makes me really, really wish they woulda made the DK3 game they canned eons ago.

Bummer, the local Fred Meyer doesn't have it. Guess I'll just have to order it online.
There's a way to purchase it online and download it from their site. It actually costs less than it did for me to buy it from Gamestop.
And I just realized that I may have started a EC fad. Crap, I hate those.

Awesome. Thanks.

Nope... Can handle 5 just fine, but 8 was pushing it.
That game is CRAZY man, I say CRAZY!
But it appears, that, the demo has everything the full version has already... Except you can only be the human side, and only have two maps. So it seems lacking in depth, although mad fun. Given a bit more content, and a few more extras, this game would own.
ANd they have a hot chick on the cover of the box art as some sort of caster, and in the trailer, and in the starting movie... There are no half naked hot chicks in the game... [ 10-10-2003: Message edited by: Faelynn LeAndris ]
Just not enough too it, Demo has everything in it already, for the Humans.
Also, and there are like, 12 more maps that come with the retail game, and most are MUCH nicer than the 2 in the demo.

Eh... Unless you have money to waste... I don't think it's worth $39 right now.Just not enough too it, Demo has everything in it already, for the Humans.
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend buying the full version unless you have the money to spare. Personally, I bought it because I really liked the demo and I did have the spare cash. Its a good game, but you don't need to run out and get it.
Of course, in defense of the game I should note that the beasts play VERY differently from the humans. The strategy is quite different with them. Plus the release version has 14 maps, and more once the auto-download is working for maps, compared to the demo's 2. The demo is good stuff, and has a whole lot more than most demos, but its far from the full game.
About 4 minutes from having it downloaded and installed.

Yeah, it has a whole lote more.. But for what its got now, $39 just sounds a little high, when you can have lots of fun with just the Demo.

Marksman Bow is both insanely deadly cool, and extremely hard to use...
(Demo or otherwise?)
