Er, that is to say, your name might not survive. I know some old fashioned people that would be really angry and sad if their kids never had a kid to carry on the family name.

I consider myself 'straight edge'. Granted I don't have lots of tattoos and I'm not a vegan. But I am true to myself, as it were, which is the entire philosphy and backbone of straight edge. Contrary to popular belief (at least lately), straight edge isn't 'about' keeping your body pure of all things that, even if done 'correctly' can be used for 'wrong'. It's about self-control (which is all very subjective). If I'm going to die and that means that I'm going to have to take some medication so I don't...you're damn right I'm going to take the fucking medication. I value my life more than I do the ability to say I'm hardcore because I'm pure of drugs. Some people would say that doesn't mean I'm straight edge. Exactly the kind of people who'll freak out if I eat meat, or if I say I'd have sex with somebody I love. Straight edge is if I take that medication and it makes me feel pretty trippy, and I can't stop. Straight edge is if I have sex with somebody I love and suddenly I need to have sex with everybody, whether or not I love them. I wouldn't do any of that, not even for a second. And as far as I'm concerned, that's as far as it goes.

Some people get downright obsessed with the whole thing though. I don't think it was ever meant to be a lifestyle, just a life choice. Unfortunately, that never really lasted.

Besides, don't you drink?
