"They call it the Peacemaker. S'funny. I ain't never seen no peace made by it." (I forgot where that was from, but Bloodsage reminded me of it. )
And the Julius Ceasar one did sound a little manufactured but I picked it up from these forums but haven't had the time to check the authenticity. Still good though. Are you sure it might not have been in Shakespeare's Caesar? It's been a long time since I read that... /me tries to find it again.

That goes real well with this quote...

"We go to Iraq, not as executioners, but as peacemakers."
I just thought it was funny, because like... Bush ->- Texas ->- West ->- Cowboy ->- Colt Peacemaker.

Yeah but mine includes text from two different people, Goering himself and his interviewer, Gilbert.
And Snopes.com has the whole story on the Goering quote and the Ceasar quote if you want a quick and quality discourse. Snopes is my bitch!

Two, Mom, youre clinging to any kind of scrap new age eastern religion that may justify why the above said love failed, three, Dad, youre a slick, corporate, preppy-ass lawyer. I dont really have to say anything else about you, do I, Dad? Four, you moved from New York City the mecca and hub of the cultural world to UTAH. NOWHERE! To change nothing, more to perpetuate this cycle of money, greed, fascism, and triviality. I mean, your movement of the people, by the people, for the people, got you NOTHING. You just hide behind some lost sense of drugs, sex, rockn roll, oooh, KUMBAYA. I am the FUTURE, I am the future of this great nation, which YOU, Father, so arrogantly saved this world for. Look, I, I have my own agenda. Harvard, out. University of Utah, in. I am gonna get a 4.0 in Damage! I love you guys, dont get me wrong! Its all about this. But one thing I do know, is that we did it harder, damn we did it faster, and we definitely did it with MORE LOVE, BABY! UNH! And you cant take that away from us!"

So quoth Bloodsage:According to my OED, the only noun form of "quote" refers to a short form of "quotation marks."
Websters does list the meaning you have, but it is improper usage. That's the fallacy: being listed in a dictionary means people use a word in a given manner, not that it's proper to do so.
Of course, there is constant tension between proper and vulgar usage, and the language evolves, sometimes in unexpected ways. But if one is going to use that as justification for sloppy speaking, we might as well all jump on the Ebonics bandwagon, as it's obviously the wave of the future.
Neener.
Quote can be used in place of an object though, and it can be the object of possession. So therefore it can be a noun.
ie: "Random Quote's of the day" "This Quote is from the morning paper."
to 'Quote' someone refers to it as a verb, as an action, but the actual word quote can be used to represent the action, as a noun. Much like he, her, it can be improper nouns and replace a proper noun. Quote can replace the action quote as a noun. A quote is a person, place, or thing.
Thats the way I learned it anyway. [ 05-03-2003: Message edited by: Faelynn LeAndris ]

True, but "quote", when used as a noun, is just a short form of "quotation". It's more of a slang term, if you will. Whether it's still alright to use "quote" as a noun is best left to the person saying it, however.
I see no problem with using it as a noun.

Personally I prefer an automatic to a revolver since they hold more rounds.
More opportunities to "dispense the peace".

Oh, and to actually contribute something;
quote:
I bring this prayer to You, Lord
For You alone can give
What one cannot demand from oneself.
Give me, Lord, what You have left over,
Give me what no one ever asks You for.
I don't ask You for rest,
Or quiet,
Whether of soul or body;
I don't ask You for wealth,
Nor for success, nor even health perhaps.
That sort of thing You get asked for so much
That You can't have any of it left over,
Give me what no one wants from You.
I want insecurity and strife,
And I want You to give me these once and for all.
So that I can be sure of having them always,
Since I shall not always have the courage
To ask You for them.
Give me, Lord, what you have left over,
Give me what others want nothing to do with.
But give me courage too,
And strength and faith;
For You alone can give
What one cannot demand from oneself.-Lt. Andre Zirnheld, "An SAS Soldier's Prayer"
