I forgot Rufio too.
Do you think Sigur Ros counts?

I don't think I've heard any of their music, I'll have to find some of their stuff.
I've heard their name floating around when looking for emo stuff, though.
But Special Goodness is Pat Wilson's project, they're coming out with their new record in march (already have it pre-ordered
) - they're the best example of "contented emo" I can think of, if you count them as emo; some of their stuff is a bit borderline musically.
Not much on Kazaa. If I like them I'll look into them further though.

I feel so inexperienced next to Vorbo and Suddar.
That's my opinion.

Well then it's hilarious! reference to your sig!
Don't really have a favorite genre. I'll listen to absolutely anything.
Except Emo. I've never heard "Emo" but it just sounds stupid.

Shit, people are noticing my sig - time to change it.
Then there's, like, the All-American Rejects, who COULD be good - I don't really know - but the lead singer's voice annoys the living fuck out of me and the song Swing Swing prevents me from listening to a certain radio station in the morning anymore.
I also dislike Good Charlotte because, although not emo, they are extremely lame now (when before they were just okay), and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous makes me want to stab myself in the throat. I was muchly annoyed when they were voted Artist With Most Integrity in Alternative Press. I used to think AP was cool, since they've printed stuff about Scarling and the Distillers before, but now... SUCKAGE!!!!! What an evil magazine.
P.S. 123sometimes5~! (Power pop, pop rock, etc. Catchy-as-hell but still rocks hard. Can't fight the seether!#$@&) [ 02-16-2003: Message edited by: Veruca Salt ]
And as for what exactly emo is, you can't really describe what exactly emo is because everybody seems to define it differently.
Most of those definitions suck, though.
However, if you're curious, Weezer is awesome for an introduction into "good" emo.
"Bad" emo is what I call "emo whinecore", which is cleverly derived from "emo hardcore," but it's just so whiny I can't bear to call it that, because it's about as hard as a ham sandwich. Emo at its core is generally just punk with more emotion, though, and with most bands a lot of whining. I prefer the happy stuff though, of which there is plenty. Of course, everybody ignores this type of emo because it has too many merits to be made fun of successfully. [ 02-16-2003: Message edited by: Suddar ]

What in god's name is Emo? Sounds like a horrid misspelling of the large bird.
I believe it is short For Emotional, as the music is supposedly emotionally charged; you know as opposed to all other music, which is sung with no emotion at all. It is usually seen as a form of Punk, I have seen it called a form off Ska too. Personally, Emo is to Punk, as Grunge was to Rock, nothing more than a clever Buzzword for the media and Record industry to play with.

CLASSICAL

Rock
80's music
Oldies!! 50's 60's 70's (was always on the radio at home)
Actually, I'll listen to pretty much anything as long as it isn't
1)overly offensive
2)Country.
3) 1 and 2 combined
[opinion]Country = Cousin kissin, cow pokin, redneck rap![/opinion]
I can't stand pop music, it must die.
But mostly classical and instramental stuff.
