I never used the name outside of EQ though, except here. I go by the name 'Led' online nowadays though
"Sue-key" or "Sue-chee"?

How.... Tier.... uughhhhhh:
That would be because surnames already taken can't be taken with /surname
I've seen non-married people with the same surname.

Yuri had this to say about Knight Rider:
I say sue-chee.
Back in 7th grade I drew this made up hero I called Dragon Knight. He was leather jacket wearing, Busteresque sword wielding (though I do believe I made him before FF7 came out... can't remember.) guy. Basically the congomeration of various things I thought were 'cool' at the time.
As I mulled over him, I realized he needed a better name (or at least one that was his 'secret identity'). Wanted a fantasy sounding name so came up with Azerax, but that didn't fit my liking so I changed it to Azymyth.
Az-EE-mith
Would go to Yahoo RP chatrooms under Azymyth_x. Ironically, when I first played EQ, his first incarnation was as a Ranger (Azymyth is an alteration of the word Azimuth which means True North, though I didn't know it at the time).
Recreated him as a bard later because I thought it just fit better.
I went as Zeal.ot for a while, then after I also felt childish for having the same name since I was twelve I changed my name to shotgun jockey when I needed a name for TFC and CS. During an accidental 3 on 1 me a newb verse the top 3 people in the FjP clan I went 9-0 and changed my name to elfy.
Sadly this became my nickname at the cardshop
Later on I changed it to Drunken Elf, because a few months had passed and the nickname was pissing me off. This went through variants of Tokin Smokin Elven and other bits and pieces, with a small stint The Blinking Squirrel and The Power Hungry Pancake. Eventually I saw hte card ELvish Piper from urzas block and was like, OMG HE IS TOKING, so I though... I like elves.... I like making drug references.... LEts be the Elvish Crack Piper! Neverminding that I dont actually do drugs or anything.
Thers my story
eh, thought it was ok for a use anywhere kind of name, but going to have to replace it soon.
Oh yeah, Suchii, what is the color that you would use to represent yourself!?(need it for the "Hammer and Tophat Empire" banner in my comic)
Cee-Bee-T-ou(ch)
I made this a few years back when I decided using all my RP names was getting tacky, so I made a respectable internet handle
CB being my initials, Tao coming from Taoism, which I had recently discovered before making this handle.
RP names:
Taben uth Gilthan:
always my main, I've used Taben ever since my DM waaay back in the 6th grade made me stop using obscure Arthurian legend names
started out as a half-elven Paladin, ever since, he's been my honorable warrior character, sometimes for good, sometimes for evil, always with honor.
then I gots Jorath, this was a play off Jorel, when I was making a Rivan name for a character on the mud I played based off David Eddings' Belgariad and Mallorean, he's usually a good aligned but crafty bastard, was a Spy on the mud, a Scout on Dark age, he also services for barbarian names or norse for that matter, since I think it sound so right for it.
other names include: Penedor, Pendaga, Zurik, Cthar, Morkth, Curzad, Khorakai, Jorakai, and many plays off those, the Pen- names are my true knights, Penedor is always the good, Pendaga always the evil, Pendaga now usually services as my stock lastname for characters not named Taben
I've been roleplaying for a long time...
As for me..
Sin-jar-ee
Made it up when I was thinking of a character name for the mud that KaL and I worked on. And for KaL:
KaLourin: Ka-LORE-in
Kandorath: Can-dor-wrath (the w isnt too strongly pronounced on the wrath type part)
Emphasis on the lore part..
My other EQ/RP names:
Misery: Self explanatory
Nyere: Nigh-air
Amarys: Ama-reese
Kjerste: Key-yer-stuh
Got a few others but wont go into them.. [ 01-27-2003: Message edited by: Synjari ]
Esear Kuin, which is my RP character's name for EVERYTHING. Came from my favourite Star Wars person, Exar Kun. Surprisingly few people see the relation o_O.
Other names I just make up on the spot.

You used to be Lazuli! You were talking about how it was from some bird or something and it was blue and you were like YAY BLUE! Then you started getting called Lazzy!

The logic train ran off the tracks when Lazadriel said:

You were known as Cerulian until shortly after I came here, at which point you had the baby lap dragon named Lazuli. You had big ol' RP things based on that, like how Mort would keep steeling the egg and stuff.
It's funny how much Mort RPed like Strong Bad.
Anyway, I was looking on an online english/japanese dictionary for a good monk name. I happened upon "Ryuujin" which means Dragon God. I thought, "What the hell, Iksars are kind of like dragons in a way." and voila, Ryuujin was born.
I've stuck with it for a long while, it's really the only name that I'd consider keeping indefinitely. The only downside is everyone thinks I ripped it off of Street Fighter.

He didn't say people couldn't have the same surname. He said they can't get them with the /surname command. There's a difference.
If you want a surname that the server rejects, it's most likely because someone else is using it. You just have to petition and as long as it doesn't violate the naming policy, you'll get it.
I thought you knew how EQ worked.

Ja'Deth Issar Ka'bael thought about the meaning of life:
I don't think Lyinar had to petition to give her necro the same surname as my shaman.
Nope, I didn't.
And last count was 114 or 115 or something like that.

Well it doesn't ALWAYS work that way.
It's just basically a good rule of thumb that if you get a surname rejected, you can probably petition for it and get it.

Chthon (che-thon): Every hero needs a nemesis, right? Well, due to being the depressed, angry fellow I was when I was creating these characters, I needed a guy who would represent everything I really wanted to do to the people who gave me hell in school. I was reading a Doctor Strange comic when I read the name of the author of the Darkhold, a book of powerful evil magic, Chthon. What better name?
Since you guys probably don't want to hear the explanation behind all my character's names, I'll just do a pronunciation guide.
Obelisk: You can probably guess this one.
Hillodania: Hill-yo-dahn-ya
Nedra: Ned-hra
Nixxius: Nix-ee-us
Lupin: Easy enough...
Piyoa: Pea-yoh-ah
Zelphanus: Zel-pha-nuss
Drakana: Dra-kahn-ah
Ursus: Urr-suss(some have pronounced it ourse-uss)
Mistii: Simple.
Tutayn: Tyu-tayne
Daimonic: Die-mohn-ic
Oh, and since she asked, here's how to pronounce Lsanna: Liz-anna.
