Thank you thank you THANK YOU!! finally someone who agrees with me about that stupid movie.. every one else I talk to seems to love it.. my friend says its a movie that makes you 'think'
Makes you think "Where the FUCK are my two hours back?" maybe
There's being abstract and being totally fucking out in left field. That movie is SO the latter. You can't just jumble some things together and say you're just being "unusual" or "creative" or "making people think".
Being John Malkovich makes people think. Donnie Darko is worse than those weird ass music videos some metal bands put out.

(On the plus side, I've never seen a bad movie since, because everything seems a lot better when it's compared to the piece of crap.)
me and zephy saw that, i think we posted about how absolutely horrible it was.
"Apocalypse Now" was interesting because it was based on a deeply metaphorical short story "Heart of Darkness". I did a research paper on "Heart of Darkness" and I enjoyed Apocalypse Now (especially the "Redux" where they added all the footage back in). You should hear some of the stories of the making of the movie...it's like it infected everyone involved with personal madnesses.

Mulholland Drive. (bad)
Memento. (good)
Vanilla sky. (decent)
12 monkeys. (decent)
the game. (good)
No, Really. Bite me.
For sheer stupidity: The Unnameable 2, Moulin Rouge (the first time I saw it, before it ate my brain), and the Scorpion King (which made my brain want to crawl away and die).
For reference, a Spaghetti Western is a western by an Italian director.

Of course, if you go and look up about 90% of the movie in the bible and other books on angels and shit, it makes an assload more sense.
Or you could watch the commentary on it, they explain half of it for you.
Then again, I doubt it.

I liked the Conan movies...Scorpion King just reminded me too much of pro-wrestling.

Only movie called "Taboo" I ever heard of was some porno movie about incest or some shit.

The one I'm referring to is a Japanese import about (I believe) Edo era Japan's Samurai. And a young Samurai named Kano. Kano is much like Kenshin.. super-bishounen and extremely skilled with a sword. However, he has other problems.. he's a bit too pretty.

Oh yeaaaaaah I heard of that one...he's too pretty and it's like he gets passed around his regiment like a skinny white boy in a lifer cell block.
Yeah, and then he just kills everyone. *Shrugs* I vote Kano for most evil villain.

Granted a lot of it seems it was done on acid or something
exactly.
My main complaint with it was it had some good ending points that would've salvaged some of the ok parts of the movie but it just kept going and getting weirder and weirder. [ 01-06-2003: Message edited by: Motiak ]
I doubt anyone else has watched it, It was only recently in cinemas here and I don't think it was released in the US, but it's a Brit film about a plague that infects the UK. The storyline follows a guy who wakes up from a coma and finds London totally empty. (Just seeing London empty was shocking enough actually) and how he and some other survivors try to get out of the country, while avoiding the odd rabid infected human.
It's actually a pretty good film imho but it did fuck with my head a little bit. I would have been thinking "Wtf?!" for days if I hadn't seen Harry Potter straight afterwards to lighten things up.

Didn't know it was a song. Good movie.
If games count, Metal Gear Solid 2 (Which is close enough to a movie, anyway) made me go "WTF" more than anything else has. I ended up figuring out what the hell was going on eventually, though.
also for just sheer freakyness, the Exorcist.

I think that puts you ahead of the writers, then.

A man much, much more intelligent than you.
Great movie, but it messes with your head.
Spice World (Eeeeeeevil Spice Girls movie)
Also Reign of Fire and Unbreakable.
As for End of Evangelion? Give me four hours, three cups of coffee and I'll get an explanation up. Just got it recently, watched it three times with and without commentary.
For a feature film...I'll have to agree with The Game.
