I just rarely speak at all, and concentrate on the play nowadays. Kind of defeats the entire purpose of playing online though.The one time I EVER used a mic in an online game, nearly made me smash my friends computer, the little peckerheads pissed me off so badly 
"omg u fag u hav grl name u fag fag quit haking fag!"
So I dug around for her mic (found it in a pizza box o_O), quickly plugged it in, hit the voice key, and let out a RAWR!#%!#% that would make Kat proud!
And then within five seconds:
"a girl!? omg suk my dik?"
At this point I promptly shot my teammate in the face, and quit in disgust.
Try to find just one server you like, and stick with it. If you can find one with a good group of regular players, you can have quite a lot of fun ^_^
64.81.178.3:27015 is a pretty good CS server. There are two or three other female regulars there
