One or two risque pics, eh...okay. No biggy. But this is turning into one of those annoying trends. And it's probably the assumption that these same people will change their pic in a week or so anyway that's keeping things from coming down to folks requesting mods or whatever to change them.
It's in the rules. Already been quoted. If you wouldn't feel comfortable looking at pics like that at work, or rather, if they're not stuff you should be looking at work, then it's probably a no-no.
Besides, for one thing, as I recall, the blue ass pic was wearing a g-string. Little difference from a pic of a woman with hair the only covering her breasts, but there you are. Thin line between okay and not okay. Especially when half a dozen people are doing it.
I'm not a prude. Really. It's been said before (and was topic in the sorc.net EC for a while), I like porn. I really do. I just know when it's okay to look at it and when it's not.

Now, let's see. Why is it any different that the breasts are covered by hair rather than a piece of cloth? A bra would probably show more than having the hair covering them would.
And for this part, let's assume this is against the rules (which I'm fairly certain it isn't, though it is probably close). Why would it be okay to break the rules because it's only one person, but not okay when it's several? I don't recall there being a seperate ruleset for groups and individuals, but maybe I'm just not very well informed?

A member of the community very politely asks the women of EC who are participating in the sexy sig pic trend to tone down their images so he can read the boards at home - where he lives - where he's probably too young to do anything about where he lives - without constantly being paranoid that his parents will wonder if he's loooking at porn.
He hasn't judged anyone. He hasn't implied that the pictures are actually inappropriate. He simply asked the community to help him out.

No, this isn't board policy. No, those pictures don't violate the soft porn/porn clause. However, apparantly, a member of the board is in a pinch because of them. I'm sure a few people at work quickly scroll past them with a bit of paranoia. Talk to them. Tell them what it is, and you can even show themn the thread it orginated in.

Most of the sig pics are still in the PG arena, and perfectly within the realms of PG-13.
And I agree with Piper.
A better way for Taeldian to approach this would probably have been to send a PM, and I think Lash/Gikk/Laz/Addy would have been much more likely to change their sigpics if he had done so, but that's just my belief.
My post was just a defense of my friends. (And I just can't resist when people leave themselves wide open like that. )
But the trend with the half or more than half nude women in sigpics is kindof sad. The fact that you think it's fun and entertaining to have them in your sigpic is fine, but you're really taking it to far as to saying that one person who asked nicly for them to be toned down is completely in the wrong.
I have no problems with the sigpics personally. I have my own room where my computer stays, and I make sure that my parents don't get to see much if any of EC at all. EC had been blocked at my highschool for the entire year until two weeks we got out, because it fit into the Gamming category, so I don't ask you people to change your sigpics because of that (I've been out for nearly a month now anyway).
Please, just this once abondon a trend because it's not that cool. A lot of people here read the boards at work, Khyron, Baja(I think, maybe) and a bunch of others. How would you feel if you cut those cool people out of the life of EC becuase you like your sigpic? I know I'd find a desk job pretty boring, and that I'd probably surf EC alot at work if I had one, because I usually finish whatever task is given to me early.
Now, I think I'll go, having tried to make my point and ride around with my dad on his morocycle. I hope that the women of EC who have engaged in this trend will tone it down a bit, because I'd hate to have members who regularly post from work have to stop.
