Just so you know, someone else once linked to a popup hell as part of a joke. He got his ass reamed by the rest of the board. He posted that he was very, very sorry, and would never do anything like that again. Eventually, he was forgiven, but not everyone forgave him right away.
The fact is, your 'joke' did something very rude to people's computers, wheither you intended for it to or not. Your apology didn't come across as very heartfelt, so people see it as an insult. Your other comments appear to be saying that you don't take any responsability for it, so it's not your fault.
At this rate, you won't last long. Everyone's starting to dislike you (to say the least). Don't feel that they are being unfair, however. Others have been in similar situations with the board, and got the same kind of responce. The only difference is how they delt with it.
That having been said: Have you contacted your web site host and told them about that nasty little thing? Untill someone does, it will keep popping up on your site, and others hosted by them as well. That is a Bad Thing.
