Gender-neutral terms are, by definition, ambiguous with regard to sex.

I was very precise in what I said. You, apparantly, just lack the ability to read.

Rather than carping upon my alleged faults, why don't you put your money where your mouth is, and try to find an example?

The worst insult you've mananged all night is your stupid comparison of the tripe you're spouting with what was said before you chose to interject your bullshit.

ONO!!1 Logic doesn't work for me! I must now say it cannot be! There IS no logic--only my brand of useless bullshit!

You just keep thinking that.

Besides, if any of what you say is true, you should be jumping Bajah's case for coming into the argument so late in the first place. After all, if there's no logic, and no reason to debate, he should have kept his mouth shut just like you keep insisting I should.

Right?

Right, but he did not keep his mouth shut, you did not keep your mouth shut, lots of people failed to keep their mouths shut. And now look at where we are

And insulting me and my lack of logic will not work. You insist on arguing with ironclad semantics, I argue using absolutely no sense.

And you continue to debase the human factor in arguments. Why did Bajah jump in? Why did ANYONE jump in? Because they saw, in there eyes, an error, an insult, or SOMEthing that they felt the necessity to argue. They did not do it because it was logical

Lack of logic does not denote stupidity, boy.

Suddar Williams had this to say about pies:
I'm not attacking you, Bloodsage. I'm not attacking anybody.

I'm sorry for just addressing you, but it was what was most prominent on my mind at the time. I'm not trying to attack you. I swear.

All I'm saying is: even a provoked response can go too far." And that is something you often do. You go too far on the smallest things--somebody posts in a fit of anger and you tell them their life is worthless. And while they carry half of the blame you have to remember that you do too, and you aren't always in the right. Neither is Bajah. Neither is Suchii. Neither is Gikkweny (sorry, I'm not checking how to spell it, I'm going right to bed...). Neither am I

You aren't in the position to tell me what is and what isn't the right thing. Honestly. While you and Suchii are bickering, while you refuse to just swallow your pride and agree to disagree, how can you possibly call that in the right? And you, Bajah, how can you possibly say you can read somebody better than Bloodsage, who you hardly even KNOW, when you could be just as wrong since nobody really knows what point he was trying to convey?

Suchii probably should've stayed out of it. She didn't. You turn around, Bloodsage, and insult their entire relationship, whether or not you really MEANT it, by calling her nothing more than a "plaything." While you may not've been serious, and while you may not actually believe it to be true, the fact is you said it--you said it, and it's going to affect people. It's going to provoke people.

And then you people just bicker, and bicker, and bicker, and the original point's been lost. So why can't you all just swallow your pride and go the fuck to bed?

Damn straight I'm not going to play nice with people who insult me out of the blue.

And if people are going to get their precious feelings hurt, perhaps they shouldn't start flames.

I tried for a very long time to be reasonably measured as Bajah kept getting increasingly personal and illogical. I feel no such need for restraint in the face of unprovoked flames from Suchii and Gikkwiny.

Why on earth should I?

As I said, if their feelings get hurt, it's their own damn fault for sticking their noses where they didn't belong. And if they lack the maturity to keep from dragging their hurt little feelings from thread to thread, then that, too, is their problem.

The point is, though, if more people would censure those who flame others out of the blue--thanks, Snoota!--then this kind of thing would happen less often. Instead, though, the lamers get the satisfaction of seeing everyone else blame me simply because I choose not to accept being insulted.

Well, knowing Bloodsage, it either won't end at all, or it'll end somewhere around page 249, or it'll end when the server crashes from overload and Drysart goes apeshit and deletes the thread.

Yes, frankly, arguing stupid shit unsupportable by logic is inferior, silly, pointless, and dumb.

And it's stupid to claim you're right based on no other evidence than a feeling. You may or may not be a stupid person, overall, but what you've said here certainly fits the description.

From what I understand of how 'Sart configured the boards, no matter how large a thread would get, it'd never crash the boards... Theoretically. There is a limit to how much data can actually be on the server.
I was taking bets on when it was going to be locked.

Well, I can guarantee it'll blow it's gasket when a thread goes over, say, 200 pages and you get 2 people to want to view it at the same time

(been there done that.. in another way)

As far as lockage.. I hope not, it's kinda entertaining to watch really

No, but that's hard to do without code and I doubt Drysart is willingly going to fork over his code

But then again, I've been doing MySQL for a few years, and I know it's going to go *kaboom* at some point. The question is; how many queries are executed per thread globally, how many per thread page, and how many per message.

Add this up. If the resulting load exceeds about 90 queries/sec MySQL has a good chance of giving up and dying, unless it's a recent version and it's properly configured.

Either that or he built in enough safeguards that things won't blow up (which I won't know about since I haven't seen the code)
